Being Demoted From Gold to Silver

So. While we all know this is a possibility(and a good feature for people who get "boosted," or anything like that), why in the world do they(Riot) expect people to stay sane with the amount of trolls? And with the general toxicity of the community, you make a single mistake, and not only are you getting reported for something crazy, you've instantly got more trolls on your team. Leading to your eventual demise.

How many do you have to lose/what's the formula before you get demoted to Silver from Gold? Also, what's the amount of decay you'd have to have to be demoted from Gold to Silver?

I plan on getting back to Gold again, and only playing a single game as decay may arise, because this could be the_ second season in a row_ that I lose my (deserved and earned) Gold season rewards to.. these people. Who, for some reason, have the ability to steal all these things you've worked for from you, because they don't take it seriously. Extremely discouraging to play ranked, because people genuinely enjoy taking your LP. item 3070

your MMR literally has to be terrible to be demoted down an entire league, so no it's not your team's fault at all, it's on your end.

if your skills as you say are gold quality then eventually you should get back up there, but your negativity really isnt helping, having a calm mind and positive thoughts can help significantly in terms of your gameplay, enjoying the game, overall win rate. being negative will just lead to tilting and mistakes and bad decisions.

Being reported doesn't get you stuck with 'trolls'. You'd have gotten the same people whether they reported you or not.

And don't blame other people for your struggles. I went from Bronze 3 to Silver 5 in 3 weeks playing Blitzcrank support. I never blamed my team when we lost. I just moved onto the next game. My promos from Bronze 1 to Silver 5, I lost the first two games from an afk (1st game) and troll adc (2nd game); but I ended up winning the next 3 because I played calmly and worked with the teams. You're gonna do shit if you blame other people, bro.

Bro you sound like you just need to calm down and if you get that many toxic/annoying people you can just mute and carry them. And you team has a less chance of getting a troll than their team unless you are a troll yourself.

I think the way it works is if your gold and you are at 0 lp you have to start playing with around silver 3 or 4 players. Some people say its 3 or 4 losses at 0 lp to get demoted but I don't think that's true because im plat 5 and lost about 5 games at 0 lp and didn't get demoted but my mmr is pretty low right now.Although it might have been because my mmr was pretty high.

Good luck getting gold again man

It sucks, I've been bitching enough lately about league / ranked. There is always ways to improve. Sometimes you get bad luck and lose a lot of games that are out of your control, but in the long run after a lot of games played, you are the only common factor in all of those games. Don't be fine staying in low gold, try and stay competitive. I fucking suck and was low gold two seasons in a row and now I'm silver 4 this season so you should probably disregard this entire post.

  1. There's no longer decay below Plat
  2. I believe you need to play like you belong an entire tier below where you are to get demoted (so playing like a bronze 1 to get demoted into silver 1)

*that second point only applies for demotions from one tier to another, but that's what you're asking about.
