getting midgame farm as ADC

I always like, if I'm in lane usually the jungler or mid laner or both have wave clear and spam it so I get none of the farm isntead of like half. and if I go to a solo lane to farm up so that they can sorta stall mid till that lane is pushing and I've returned? they always engage anyway, or chase a tank, and I feel bad. but if I stay with them for the team fight, then at some point I notice the enemy adc turned the 10-20 cs lead I got early game into a 30-100 cs lead in the late game and I die a little inside in shame.

like last game, I was pushing bot as adc because I was the first out after a team fight we won. and my teamates then go mid, and I know the enemy is about to do the same and they're probably gonna engage. I'm OK with this but I'm gonna clear the wave first before coming. and the enemies show up mid, and I look to start coming but it looks like me teamates are not fighting, coming into the river, right? so I stay bot for the next wave that just showed up. and I'm clearing this wave and... "an allie has been slain!" and I so I just turn and beeline to mid and check out what's going on.. .and no, no, they were'nt chased into river and I made a mistake in my call no, no they decided to turn around and chase them back to mid lane! in time for the last two enemies to show up and outnumber us! and all I can do is recall and try to hold mid with my sup because three of them died just for one of the enemies. the mid laner i think. and well we lose the second mid tower, and hold off the inhib tower somehow but the sup dies before the teamates respawn...

or it's like, I'm pushing to a tower all split-push style because I'm fed enough and top laner is TP down and top and I can 1-v-1 anyone and my teamates are mid, so the enemies have to chase me. and I'm greedy so I'm looking at cs to get all the last hits instead of watching the map and missing some. and my teamates, instead of pinging me danger when the enemies leave mid, or following them so that I can kite to them if I DID pay attention to the map, or pushing mid when the enemies leave so that there's pressure? just do nothing. so I just kite up the lane doing as much damage to the tower before the slew of enemies can dive me dead :(

I gues really I'm just ranting in an unimpressive fashion with this post. but really, I'm at a point where my decision making needs to improve in order form me to start to climb again, and I feel kinda lost for the time being...

I get where you're coming from. As an ADC, all that juicy farm looks just too good to pass up. However, the most important thing during mid-game in my experience is to group and push towers. Don't spend too much time AFK farming away from your team because 1) it gives them an opening to win a team fight 5v4 and 2) it makes you vulnerable to ganks being all by your lonesome in a lane far, far away...

Learn how to control minion waves and clear 2-3 waves. Leave the ranged minions up so that the wave will slow push, but don't go past the river! You will most definitely get ganked. Slow push the wave, or shove it depending on the situation, and then go join your team. If you're farming in a side lane, make sure you spam ping your team if you see them pushed up looking for a fight. The one mistake people in lower elos tend to make is that they will try to engage on an enemy team, forgetting that their ADC and main damage dealer is nowhere near. So ping and communicate to your team that you're pushing the wave and then you'll join.

While getting CS for an ADC is important, applying pressure on the map with your team is far more important. While the enemy ADC is in a side lane farming their as- off, your team is mid lane taking T1 and T2 turrets while their team is screaming at their ADC to help defend. And if mid lane is down, roam with your team to top/bottom and take those turrets as well.
