Hello, I'm still pretty to to League of Legends and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to shut down Teemo. I have a hard time laning against him if he can get ahead by a few kills and I want to know if there is any way I can shut him down when he gets ahead or how to prevent him from getting ahead in general.
Kill him.
I mean basically the best way to deal with Teemo is to out-damage him. If you sit around and let him harass you, you'll die to his poison eventually. But his only disengage is his movespeed boost, so you should trade with him every time he tries to harass or if his Q goes on cooldown. Teemo doesn't have a lot of burst damage, he relies on DoT damage.
Once he hits 6, he'll probably start Shrooming the jungle routes to gank. It might be worth getting a Sweeper and buying wards, that way you can clear his shrooms if you want your jungler to gank. Otherwise, just let your jungler know where the shrooms are (bush, river, tri)
You can also use a longer range champ and out poke him. Jayce is a great example of this.
Build MR, but the only way to deal with him is to all in him when he gets to lane.
So, a couple things:
1: Teemo (Outside of Tank-mo), is an exceptionally squishy champion and any amount of damage will hurt him.
2: Teemo will push your lane if you leave him alone since he can rely on his shroom safety net. Don't leave him alone in top lane or you will lose towers.
3: MR, MR, MR...

i used to have alot of problems with teemo and i hated him for so long when i first started playing league, mostly because i mained voli at the time but the only way i could learn to shut down teemo was by playing him, once i played a few matches with him it all became clear what his strengths and weaknesses were and how i could exploit them to my benefit whether im playing against teemo, as teemo, or with a teemo.
engage let him use blind, back then when he come back and blind is still on cool down kill him. teemo is really strong if he can just farm. but if he is constantly shut down he becomes easier to kill than the avg champ. these 2 reasons are why nobody wants to face teemo but nobody wants teemo on their team
Splash him with holy water. Works every time.

how to play the lane:
ward properly, cs using your auto attacks, defend yourself with q and then eventually e. build: will of the acients then spirit visage for lane
run TP so you can back when you need to and dont be afraid to fight him because naturally you are a stronger in duels.
play safe early and be prepared to recall when you need to and you can beat even the best teemo.
Close your eyes, put your hands over your face, and pretend you're invis.. he'll go away.
play fiora. start w get q level two then double q him hit w and walk away. repeat until he's dead or you're level three and you all in him. When you kill him level two/three you win lane and feed on him ANY time he shows him self. Teemo has been removed from the game.
