PROPER Pick Order Priority

First off, pick order is NOT "when" you are able to pick your champion. It's the listing from top to bottom in the champion select screen. So anyone above you, (EVEN IF YOU PICK AT THE SAME TIME), has pick priority over you.

This system was created because (apart from first pick) you are randomly assorted into pick order and this constitutes a complete fairness in who gets to go where.

So please, it's our duty as fellow summoners to ensure the continued PROPER use of this system.

Thanks!

I remember one of my solo queue match's I was last pick and both mid and support were left open. I picked AP Kog Maw mid and the other person who was last pick with me but above me in pick order didn't say anything during that champion select till I locked in and he was FURIOUS when I had because he wanted mid and used this logic of pick order. I then had to tell him to chill the fuck out and take mid. I ended up doing more than triple his damage as a support Kog Maw and I got our ADC extremely fed. Almost glad he didn't go bot and feed the enemy ADC because our ADC being behind and theirs being fed would have been a lot worse then him feeding mid.

Regardless I found it some what amusing how crazy he was for this pick order logic and I simply cannot take it seriously at all. People often do trades after everyone is locked in to help counter pick specific lanes or to give someone lower in the pick order a strong popular champion as first pick and that basically defeats the purpose of this "pick order" mentality in a way that makes a lot more sense no matter how it might screw up some else's preferred pick.

Well if what your saying is true then it shouldn't be called "pick order" and instead should be called something like "placement order" or anything relating to the place of every summoner who is choosing their champ. See right now anyone who would look at the phrase "pick order" would understand that it means the time where you PICK your champion ( hence why it is called pick order ) and not WHERE you are placed ( above or below ) because that is what the phrase literally means so unless a rioter did actually explain this, there's no reason for someone not to believe it means when you pick.

I agree and it's a very easy rule to follow.

Personally, I like counter picking in 5th pos. I don't think it's that hard to become competent at all the roles.

Yes but only for draft picks and ranked matches.

Who gives a shit, really. If we're talking about ranked games, you should be versatile in who you play, anyway. If you're confident that you can counter somebody, then say "Hey I can counter ahri, I have around 40 ranked annie games played and a positive KDR, here's my lolking". This method very seldom fails, and you usually just get an "Ok but if you feed I'm reporting you".

Champ select is where a lot of games are won and lost. Lolking is your friend. Half the time I already have the person looked up and saying something along the lines of "Hey you play a good Vi, your stats are nice and I'm not the best jungler. You wanna do that so we can win?" or "Dude your blitz stats are sick and you have a lot of experience with him, grab him and let's steamroll these kids"

Reverse psychology works like a charm and you can effectively get people to play what they're good at if you know what they're good at, tell them they're good at it, and suggest they play it.

I'm not to sure about this

Question I have for you guys is this one: Who d you hate more? Those who lock instantly or those who say nothing and lock something in just as you think that they will now dodge the queue?

I honestly hate the later more. At least when you lock something (even if it's a complete troll pick) you give the rest of the team time to react to your pick. Leaving us with nothing to work with until the very last second is 100 times more annoying in my book.

So, what you're essentially saying is that people shouldn't be allowed to counter-pick ANY of their lanes unless the enemy team randomly decides to pick before you? Seems logical, even if it betrays pretty much all the strategy that goes with the pick/ban phase. DrMundo
