Can't farm as Swain. Help please-

I usually get fed easily as Swain, but I always end with TERRIBLE cs, like 60 at 20 minutes.

I can get easily 10 kills with no deaths, but in the end i'ill finish 11-9 (for example), with the enemy I wrecked and killed in lane having full build, while i'm still trying to save money for the 4th item. Since I can't farm I kinda waste my passive too.

All his damage is dot, so farming with abilities is pretty much like auto atacking. Only w has instant dmg, but it has a dealy, long cd and I need it for my combo. I already use arcane blade and butcher masteries, but my autoatacks s are still too weak, usually the minions dmg gets the lasthit, since my auto atack damage is almost noone.

Tips?

Swain is just one of those champs that requires a lot of practice.

learn to last hit better. Practice in bots or something.

I can lasthit as any champion (at least the ones I play), I only have problems with Swain since his auto atacks deal no dmg and his abilities deal very low instant dmg.

Swain's auto attack animation is a little weird, but his auto damage isn't nearly as bad as you're saying. If you really want more damage though, you can always do what Anivia mains used to do and use AD marks. If it gets you the farm you need, it will be worth it.

It's Swain, getting CS pre-ult is supposed to be hard. Once you get ult, your cs is supposed to spike because now he actually has wave clear so I wouldn't stress about not getting much without it.

His q does instant damage and is a decent cs tool. Get the tyrant swain skin, the auto animation on it is better and will help you cs better with him. Practice, practice, practice. Getting strong early on swain = you win the game. Those early creeps are really important and seperate the average swains from the great swains.

I have the Tyrant skin, he was my main, back when I was Bronze and people have never seen a Swain and tried to duel me. Now I started sucking with him, since people are not dumb enough to fight me 1vs1, so I can't get enough fed to compensate the lack of farm. thanks for the tips.

What I do is I just take an ad page on him and this helps A LOT and you wont miss out on early damage cause you can weave in plenty of autos in your combo which still gets amplified by the e.
