Every time I loose lane as Talon, vs a mage, and my team flames me, saying talon counters mages:

Francisco Pires·11/22/2015, 11:31:38 PM·6 votes·1,880 views

Talon USED to counter mages, without his silence any champion with cc, or simply with decent dmg, wrecks talon. If I loose vs Brand, it's not because I suck and don't know how to play talon, it's because he can stun me, full combo me and walk away. that is, if he doesn't kill me, since he has more burst than me. That applies to other mages who "talon counters", that can just stun, snare, charm (etc..) TALON DOESN'T COUNTER KENNEN TALON DOESN'T COUNTER BRAND TALON DOESN'T COUNTER LUX TALON DOESN'T COUNTER SYNDRA ETC ETC....

So stop flaming me, cause, even tho I love playing Talon, he doesn't really counter anyone anymore, and if I loose lane, it's actually completely normal, unless the enemy is stupid enough to walk away instead of trading with me (the only times I get fed IN LANE is when the enemy tries to run from me after I use E, since I can just full combo them).

No, they're right. You have a blink and invisibility. Mages are easy lanes. Can dodge the cc with your blink, then outtrade them with super skilled and mechanical AD champion autoattacks. And if you somehow screw up your right clicking, press R and cya. Oracles got nerfed so it's even easier now.

"if I loose lane, it's actually completely normal" Great logic, I guess it's also normal to lose lane as Ahri vs anything with targeted damage because no dashes can outplay that. Not even gonna try to win, it's super normal to lose lane and my team should expect it :^) Work on that attitude and you'll get out of bronze/silver.

i just got destroyed by a Talon on Malzahar..

all he needed was 1 kill to snowball out of control

To be fair, you don't need the silence to counter those mages, as the instant blink behind is more than enough to dodge their skillshots. IE; Lux's Q Brand's Q Syndra's E

I'll give you Kennen though, but only because kennen is bullshit.

I personally think talon does really well against a lot of mages. It depends on jungle pressure, but ultimately if you know when is a good time to trade talon has a very easy kit, almost impossible to miss a single ability.

Talon pretty much only counters Kassadin... If the enemy kassadin has a broken R key...

Counter is a very loose word. In a 1 v 1 Talon will win against Lux. But that isn't the reality of how lanes work. If that Lux plays passive and uses her range to the fullest while not falling prey to trying to proc her passive at poor times then Lux at the minimum WILL NOT lose that lane. Talon simply will not be able to kill a passive Lux without an amazing jungle gank. She can be played with extremely safety and once she has mana she can farm/poke safely with next to zero risk. Now after the laning phase ends it is an entirely different story.

Not saying talon is underpowered or bad, just saying that almost all mid laners counter him and unlike other assassins, he's not an anti-mage. Because every time I loose lane, kids rage at me, because "it's impossible for talon to loose against a mage".

Craft Zeppelin11/23/2015, 3:01:44 AM1 votes

talons true passive is that "once he gets a single kill, every champion on the map will hide in their tower and talon will live in the river bush"

NemeBro11/23/2015, 3:06:18 AM1 votes

Why is this post pretending that Talon hasn't been one of the better mid laners until literally the most recent patch?

He's been good for a while, and what he does (specifically, his burst combo) has very little counter play compared to, say, Zed's.

talon got gutted in this patch second worst assassin even akalis better than him thats how bad he is right now.

build path gutted bc gutted lw gutted only gets 40% crit chance instead of 45% and his second crit item way later in the game since riot decided to make ghostblade a adc item.

literally the only way to win as talon is to get a camp mid or role the dice and hope you can get some kills from roaming and not fall behind.

Brand and Annie are the only mages who should give you trouble. Everyone else is freelo since you can delete them in about 2 seconds.

Stephenizgod11/23/2015, 3:44:16 AM1 votes

Hmm i rarely see my friend lose lane as Talon, even against the mages specified, are you sure its not just you?

This is called "learning to play". You see, it is your responsibility as the player to succeed, not the champion you're playing. You need to learn to avoid the CC that would wreck you, and then time your all in properly.
