Why you dont Q farm all game on Veigar

Hi, I am ShortWired, and while I may not be the best player (plat last season), I believe that there is a common misconception about our little friend . In short, what im trying to persuade you into by this post is how to play Veigar a new way, which I believe is much better. Remember to max R>Q>E>W

**Section 1: Veigar has a good early game?:**Contrary to popular belief Veigar has a fairly decent laning phase. His Q is on a low CD with high base damage and scaling on top of reliability. Use this to your advantage and bully the enemy laner constantly with this. If you go into a custom game right now and last hit every minion with Q before you run out of mana you will snag under 20 AP. Of course, with missing and enemy laner zoning you as factors you will get even less. In the end, its really not worth it to act like a mid lane . Start and some pots, and bully your lane partner constantly. Once you hit level 6 you should be able to kill any enemy laner with , yes even . However, **REMEMBER:**it is always worth it to last hit a siege minion with Q or farm once you have some mana items or blue buff.

**Section 2: Veigars mid game:**This is where Veigar EXCELS the most. This is where Veigars burst spikes and enemies havent become tanky yet. Use this time to roam a ton, especially to bot lane and participate in dragon fights. Against AP laners, they should provide easy kills if you are competent with your E.

**Section 3: Veigars Late Game:**Veigars late game is not as good as people credit him for. He has extremely short range, and can only effectively burst one target at a time. Tanks can walk all over him, hard engage supports screw him over, assassins can blow him up, effectively counter him as well. Not to mention if he misses a stun hes as good as dead. I recommend staying with your ADC at this point in the game and peeling with stun and W. If a squishy target gets caught out you can burst them, but remember once you use your stun to burst someone you are vulnerable to anyone.

What to build: and is my usual build. Morellos gets you through the early game mana problems and allows you to constantly harass and q farm when you can. Zhonyas is a good second or sometimes first item as its safety it provides late game and against a lot of burst champions. Rabadons is a must as it synergizes so well with your free AP. Void Staff allows you to get through some of that MR late game and provide fairly consistent damage. Last item is entirely up to you. Twin Shadows is surprisingly effective at allowing you to peel for yourself and catching out unsuspecting prey. Another Morellomonicon is also another option for its amazing CDR and mana regen.

After I started playing Veigar this way, I noticed my play increase by a tremendous amount. I usually grab around 150+AP for free even without Q farming often. Tips for playing against Veigar: While he isnt played often he can be quite annoying to play against. Here are some tip to make sure he doesnt become that giggling tactical nuke we all know and love.

• Try to deny him as much early game as you can. Most Veigars dont try to harass a ton early so its easy to bully them out and deny their farm.
• If he misses his stun, PUNISH him for it. Without E he cannot land W. This means he can only Q and R you which more than likely wont kill you. This is your chance to jump on him
• If your having trouble living his stun, consider purchasing . It decreases his stun by a significant amount.
• is a great item to buy as AD mid laners against him. If you live his combo, he is more than likely a free kill
• Especially mid game, be wary of his burst. Stay out of his range and wait for an opening on him, tanks usually can screw him over.
• Veigar doesnt have the best wave clear, so roaming is very effective. Usually he cant catch up to other laners, especially if they are mobile.
• If he over extends he can be an easy gank. Try to put some distance in between you and your jungler so he cant stun both of you at once.
• Zhonyas Hourglass and other untargetabilities can completely negate his Ult if timed correctly. It will put it on CD as well.
