Has anyone tried one of these items on Orianna? Maybe both? I feel that one or both of these would help her lategame a lot with Rod of Ages' stacking passive and Archangel's Staff giving mana, bonus AP based on mana and a shield that scales off mana.
Athene's Unholy grail is my first item on her, I'll usually go for the NLR items after that but I'll try it out in a few games tonight.
If you can get to a Seraph's Embrace and you're smart enough to remember to use the shield it can be a game changer. People don't expect it and if you combine it with your ball shield you will get a super shield that no one expects. This could help you live through a Veigar or Syndra ult.
rod not so much cuz she doesn't really need the health stats. the usual rush is athenes in an ap matchup or morellos in an ad matchup. cool downs are super important cuz you can spam ball movements and your ult. either of the two mentioned items stall your cdr.
RoA gives a lot of tankiness that she doesn't need and isn't enough to fix her mana.
AA Staff she doesn't charge that quickly imo.
ROA is ok, it's not a great item because it provides less AP less quickly, whereas Orianna has poor base damage but very strong scalings.
Archangel Staff itself as an item is excellent. But having a tear does not solve any mana issue.
Would this build be good? Tear>Archangel's Staff, Athene's Unholy Grail, Sorceror's boots, Luden's Echo, Rabadon's Deathcap and Zhonya's Hourglass
