on an adc edit: to clarify i meant the time of the game not order, this is assuming im going a first item IE

15 mins IE is what you ought to aim at. 12 or so would be perfection maybe but with tier one boots and a Doran's for a start plus maybe some pots, 15 mins is a good time to get it.

Yeah, it's alright. If you get 80% of the creeps and no kills, you'd have it at 12 minutes.

Little random fact. If you are running the proper attack speed runes on champs with aa steroids, you can get away with rushing a shiv first item and out trade a IE first item. For example, You are Trist facing a Caitlyn. Every time I play this matchup I always get shiv first and win lane pretty hard. Your Q with attack speed runes is already a pretty big Dps boost, and on top of that, cait doesn't have one. Plus you throw in your E. I mean, she might be able to win the poke war if you don't trade with her, but if you just trade you should always come out ahead.

actually damage benefits more from as steroids than even more as. ie would be the right way to go. but hey - if it works for you it's fine i guess..

Actually prior to the Trist rework, the shiv rush on her was meta in pro play. Imo, it is still a good first buy on her, and if you think about the flat dmg over say the crits and the huge attack speed and bonus dmg from e, you are having a higher dps than your lane opponent that only has an IE. And Dps is very important rather than just having a ton of damage. Although, some champs may vary. I think Cait with an IE rush is good, because she doesn't really want to brawl with you anyway, but wants to control the lane with poke and safe farming.

10 minutes on Draven before 15 min on any other.

If you are overly ahead or very behind you can go item 1038 item 1037 item 3093 . You get around 200-400 free gold by the time you finish item 3031 item 3087 . This gives you a later IE power spike but a faster first two item power spike.
