Malphite and Hextech Gunblade

I play when I jungle, and last night I was playing a game, and late game, I felt I wasnt doing enough damage... or maybe the right types. My full Malphite Jungle build looks like this currently:

I think I need more AP damage in it.. but I dont want to completely sacrifice the AD damage from using my AA and "W"...

So I was looking at the Hextech Gunblade It seems PERFECT for what Im looking for because it had AD, AP & Life Steal... AAANNND Spell Vamp...

It seems PERFECT for Malphite since he does combined damage and runs our of mana quickly.. it seems like a good replacement for

But when I look at all the guides on Mobafire.. I dont see 1 guide with a Hextech.. and Im wondering why?

I just wanted to make sure Im not missing something here

Keep in mind your abilities scale primarily off of AP.

He's built generally as a tank, and if you build him as an AP tank you have a shitton of mana

item 3057 is nearly always a rush on Malphite, gives him more trade potential. item 3025 from sheen, item 3110 item 3022 item 3157 item 3102 item 3264

Try those for some build options.

Iceborn gauntlet is a good buy. The amount of burst you throw down on squishies during your ult combo + sheen procs is pretty rediculous. I dont think you need more damage than that. Maybe and abyssal so you get some tank stats and more dmg on your combo. But, you dont need many damage items, and going full damage usually makes you pretty worthless after awhile. You might look unstoppable for the first 25 minutes, but after that you start getting melted. You can still blow up squishies with something like an Iceborne and/or abyssal while being full tank unkillable with a thornmail/etc.

Try this for a damage/offtank jungle build.

item 3725 item 3025 item 3153 item 3110 item 3047 item 3102

Your sustained damage is nuts with this build while still having good burst and tankiness.

The Hextech Gun blade change was decent I guess. You can only really get spell vamp off of Q because of single target, but with botrk and gunblade that sticking power is insane. I did a bunch of games of hextech gunblade kennen which was really fun and strong (more so strong 1v1). The problem with gun blade is that it is very expensive and Kennen and Malphite need to rush so many other items its hard to fit in. I found it to just be more of a "I am really fed lets have some fun item".
