Hey guys, I've been playing riven for a couple months now because shes really fun. I like her playstyle and kit, but i suck with her. like I'm complete trash. I never tried to get good with her till just recently, because I always played her with friends who didn't care how i did.Now that I'm trying to be good with her I just don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated, thanks. :) sorry if this is in the wrong board area
As a former Riven main... All I can say is... She's really easy... Like, max Q, engage with Q stun combo, E out in skirmishes, I don't quite understand how one can be bad at Riven, just hard engage the enemy in lane when their cooldowns are up, or punish them for cs'ing with stun combo, e out for damage reduction and a favorable trade, play more games.... Really almost all there is to say.
Any tips on how to deal with people like gnar ryze pantheon, anyone with high poke and sustain
i don't really play much riven, but vs hard matchups, you can make E. vs someone like gnar, you can start cloth armor and avoid his poke with your E. vs ryze, engage on him at level 3 should be fine. make sure when you do, you go hard near full health; engage with E. vs panth, start E and cloth armor and play safe, panth is very strong 1v1 early game, but you will outscale him.

Space out your auto attacks and use your passive. A good combo is: Q-Auto-Q-Auto-Q-W-Auto-E away
Two key things you should do to significantly improve your gameplay is to know how much damage you can dish out and how mobile you can be, especially in skirmishes. Many players underestimate this and do not make use of her early aggressive capabilities. It is also important to not overestimate her strength and get too aggresive, as a few deaths early will shut her down and make it hell for her to catch back up.
Riven's main damage comes from shifting between abilities and her passive AA's. Make sure for every other keystroke you hit, you proc an passive upgraded auto. It does SO much extra damage than just her abilities, and if you time it right, you can negate or absorb a lot of your opponents kit with your shield, stun, and third hit of q.
