I can't counter Yasuo for my life...

So, I normally play blind pick, and lately I've been facing off against a LOT of Yasuo's in mid lane. Champions I've been playing lately are Katarina, Orianna, Ahri, and champs like that. So far, I've ONLY been able to counter him in the slightest with Syndra.

My problem is I can't seem to outlane him at all, nor outpoke him. It seems like every single game I play he has 5x more farm than me and ends up turret diving and killing me, so even if I farm under turret I'm screwed. I try to dodge his tornado's poke him when his shield is down, etc. but it seems like no matter what he outlanes me, and gets easy kills on me. I always try to go in when he has no shield and after he's used his tornado, but still I seem useless and can't do much, and it's rare when they are down.

Does anyone have any tips or things that could help me? I've been having a lot of trouble countering him. Again I usually play blind pick so listing counter CHAMPS wouldn't be too helpful. Thank you!

Yasuo lanes are almost always a skill matchup. Of the champions you listed, Orianna and Katarina are exceptionally good against Yasuo. Orianna you should just constantly auto attack and shield yourself every time he goes on you. Ori can zone him from the minion wave which makes Yasuo significantly weaker in lane. Katarina you can easily poke him down with your QW since he is a melee champion, and save your shunpo to escape if he tries to fight you after you W.

Just remember a huge portion of his damage comes from landing his Qs. Dodge those and you'll be fine.

if your a ranged champ jus poke him down, only last hit and try to freeze lane (last hit only) in front of your tower, then everytime he tries to farm poke him (basic attack or spell) jus watch mana. mainly basic attack poke zone him off farm and dont b pushed.

Pick Annie . She is the ultimate counter to squishy champs with mobility that like to dive you. Just make sure your stun is up and hit him with your Q instead of R to stun or he might dodge Tibbers.

Annie is ezpz. Your R and W go through his windwall. The cow works really well too.

well I prefer Vladimir because he does fairly well against yasuo and also most mid laners (from what I can tell) since item 3157 is always in his build so the bursty champs and also has the sustain to survive the poke champs. Plus once i got use to him my cs was awesome because its so easy cs'ing in lane with him (avg 7 cs a min not great but for a top laner who roams a lot i think its good). This is just coming from what works for me in ranked when I cant get my main lane (top) so i take a champ i like playing and take him mid so try if you like it then stick to with it till nerf happens.

Fiora is Yasuo's worst nightmare. I learned this when I actually 1v1'ed a Yasuo at level 1 and won with half my health still using only 1 ability and no sums. Fiora is a REALLY easy champion that you should play if you want to counter a lot of auto-attack based champions.

I play a lot of yasuo, especially lately. The biggest problem with yasuo is that he has a LOT of bad matchups. if you are playing champs with skillshots and no mobility you are probably doomed against a good yas. You basically want to throw an auto at his shield, and look at your own minion wave. He will try to last hit and thats the easiest time to throw abilities at him. Also, try to get him to fight you by your creeps as that will kill him. If you fight him away from minions he loses his power and his kill potential early on. His shield resets with his ult so dont think you can just finish him right after ulting. Yasuo sucks against passive poking champions, or champs with heavy CC like annie. Also, champs who have no abilities countered by windwall usually win too. Finally, most yasuos push lanes hard by stacking their q and trying to poke, if that yasuo is playing that way, tell your jungler to gank. It's almost a surefire instaflash from him, and your jungler can come gank again after for an easy kill. Yasuo is super weak against ganks early. If the champ is fed, he will 2-3 shot your team pretty quickly.

i play yasuo a fair amount and was one of the first champs I started playing as along with diana (don't ask why i just did)

and in my experience yasuo fails when he loses lvl 1 and 2 pressure in lane by being poked and chunked or even CC to stop mid lvl 2 all in or something like that. Champs like Chogath Vladimir and Annie have a lot of poke and for the first two have built in sustain and annie has cc to zone and punish yasuo in lane.

Ekko Talon Zed Katarina all have blinks or dashes to both all in and disengage as long as it's done correctly not to mention they also have poke or ranged harass of some sort.

at the end of the day it all depends on how comfortable you are on said champion, all because it may counter yasuo doesn't mean it's a won lane, misplays and outplays can happen on both sides and if the yasuo is any good they will most likely go in his favor. And read his play style and whether he starts e or q lvl 1 because that is as much of the match up as champ select is.

Also taking exhaust not only decreases his damage but his attack speed (longer Q cooldown) and move speed ( less flow = longer time between shields). Please keep that in mind but on champs like Viktor Orianna and TwistedFate barrier and other defensive summoners are still quite relevant

Katarina pretty much counters Yasuo the whole match except for pre-6 so make sure you just farm till you hit 6 no point trading but try to harass while you cs.
