I have an ok amount of champions that im very comfortable with playing in ranked and im just wondering should i just get pages and runes now or more champions. Right now i have 4 pages standard ap and ad sets a dedicated ad/armor/scaling cd for riven and a jinx set. is it even worth more than what i have?

Finish the Attack speed page and I'd say you're all set for just about everything. Some famous Pros have about what you have, or less, so you look fine to me. I've spent the time/IP on getting 9 pages, and honestly, it's great and all, but your 4 pretty much cover the bases.

Down the road, if you are interested, I'd suggest getting the following runes:

  • Attack speed quint x1
  • Use this on your AD page (#3). A little AS goes a long way, and will help you in lane trades.
  • Flat armor quint x1
  • Use this also on your AD page (#3). The armor also can really help in those trades.
  • Mixed Pen x9
  • I'd actually recommend these instead of what you are currently using for your mages. The loss of 3 MPen is totally worth the 8 ARpen you gain. It's small, but appreciable. Helps when you want to AA people.
  • Move speed quints x2
  • Use these on 4th page for a jungler. The MS helps get you around the map better. Consider it.
  • MRes per level Glyphs x9
  • Use these on your 4th page. MR is hard to get, and getting 27 for free (as opposed to 12) is pretty sweet. I run these for everyone because I'm balzy, but for most everyone, just put these on your tank.
  • Armor per level Seals x9
  • While you lose out on about 70 effective health over flat armor seals at level 1, you gain about 500 effective health at level 18. More if you're stacking a lot of HP. I run these on my tank champs as they already have a higher base Armor naturally. Just be careful when dueling early game (pre lvl 4). They match up with flat armor at lvl 6, and then surpass from there. Use on your 4th page.
  • Totally up to you, and totally optional.
  • Flat armor Marks x9
  • I run these on my supports or tanks, assuming they won't be doing much physical damage, and need to survive AD poke in lane. This would be a 5th page to make for just your pure tanks. Aka. your support only page.

Anyway, Just some ideas. What you got is great for just about everything. Hope this helped. My profile if you're interested.: http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/30276638#runes

I think I'm up to... 8 pages? and I still feel like I don't have enough. You can play a lot of 'standard' champions in normal ways with normal runes and do just fine. But some champions just require different rune pages to do well. Shaco and Ryze are probably the most common examples of champions that use weird runes. Corki really wants hybrid pen runes. Heck, a lot of makes prefer hybrid runes to flat AP or magic pen runes.

My pages right now are something like: Mage vs AD, Armor Pen AD, Attack Speed AD, Hybrid pen AD, AP/tank jungle page, Specialized Shaco jungle. I then have two floating pages that right now are a Garen jungle page and a Proxy Tryndamere page. To fill out a 'normal' selection, I would make the Shaco page and the two floating pages into a Support page, an AP vs AP page and an AD Jungle page.

Just figure out what champions you like and make pages to fit them. When you get to the point that you find yourself wishing for another page, buy one. I kept running into situations where I just NEEDED another page. I mean, I played Corki, Ezreal and Vayne regularly and all 3 used different runes (Hybrid pen, armor pen, attack speed), so 3 slots were taken up just by ADCs...

I have almost every champion in the game, and I have the max 20 rune pages... I STRUGGLE to fill them all adequately without having duplicate pages or complete shenanigans that are useless.

I'd just get more champions in all honesty, don't be me... don't get 20 and then sit on ~6-8 blank pages. :D
