I need help on how to win games.

I'm silver 5. Yes "garbage" this is not a complaint about my rank or how my team is shit. I'm here to ask about how do I win games. Let me describe the lanes. Darius - Top (Me) - Mirror match against their Darius Elise - JG - Vi Twisted Fate - Mid - Talon (He was on lsd) Caitlyn & Alistar - Bot lane - Sivir & Blitzcrank Situation So for about like awhile I split pushed top lane really hard and I was able to bait vi and darius top, by corralling them top my team fought mid, won it, hit up the bot lane inhib, while I already took out top turret and the inhib was open but what happened was we slowly got pushed back into our base by getting picked really hard and our caitlyn got deleted way too quickly from Talon. I couldn't get inhib because they would always send atleast one person who could 1v1 me up there. Without caitlyn we lost our inhib and eventually they called for a baron with sivir soloing it and we couldn't fight them because we couldn't fight against the Darius+Talon. What I want to know What could I have done to possibly change this?

Did I go about the objectives wrong?

I remember calling for a baron but I didn't want to start it because their jungler was up. (Good or bad call?Consider our situation)

Did I just have a poor champion to split with?

Sounds like you threw by not taking advantage of lane pressure and objective control. Probably just kept dying while trying to push lane in instead of securing safe objectives and seigeing with a protect-cait strat. Also, darius is not a good lategame champ

Alistar should have able to protect cait and seems like you guys didn't took advantage for an inhib and slowly push up all lanes towards enemy , tf is also gd as pushing too u may run a 1-3-1 push with ur tp and tf ult u guys should be able to group teamfight if needed go compet objective(baron , dra etc) , one question is how can cait get oneshot while alistar and elise is around.

I have no fucking idea how to win games. My last game we had double the kills, we aced them when they got baron, we got baron twice, and we were on top of dragon. They still won. There is no proven method to winning games. It's pure luck. It's absolute pure luck.

In higher elo, top lane doesn't just split push all day, they gank the other lanes (with teleport) to get the whole team ahead. If you're going to brainlessly splitpush, at least take a champion that can escape or win most 1v1s - something like Fiora/Riven (not Darius). Darius builds tanky and is great in teamfights, and it sounds like you completely avoided any, thus not making use of his strengths.

Darius is a fine split pusher but he is really powerful in teamfights because he has a lot of AoE and a reset to go with his kit. Later in the game it would probably be better for you to just get lanes slow pushing towards the enemy and let TF handle any split push while you continue to threaten having a major impact in teamfights. You can also just siege as a 5-man and Teleport when you need to catch a huge wave coming your way and let your team disperse before getting collapsed upon. If you are catching waves at your secondary tower you can probably just get Homeguards and recall -run to lane to catch the wave.
