Build Gunblade, not Will of the Ancients
Sorry for the original post being pure flame, making me look like a complete ass in hindsight.
Didn't know I was coming off as trying to sound 31337 or pro. I am not, I am a B5 but I'm an expert analyst.
I know I would get owned by high gold, diamond and challengers in game, but I would own them in strategizing on paper.
Alas, here is my reasoning for my troll post bashing
which I jokingly referred to as Wipe on the Ass.
gives you 80 ability power, 10% CD reduction and 15% spell vamp
gives you 40 attack damage, 80 ability power, 10% life steal, 20% spell vamp
WOTA is all around an inferior item, because you're going to get your CD from
and if you're building spell vamp, it probably means you plan on surviving trades long enough to use your abilities again anyway.
The absolute only positive about WOTA is the spell vamp applies before magic resist, meaning you get full heal even from an MR tank without doing the actual damage. Outside of this, WOTA is completely useless.
Now let's talk about
and why it's superior in every aspect, making WotA an item that shouldn't ever be built.
1st let's cover the active that deals 150 plus 40% of your ability power in magic damage and slows the champion by 40% for 2 seconds. This alone is more than a reason to never build a WotA. Mobile champs are pretty popular and this stop escapes plus secures kills. I've had low health champs flash away and killed them with the damage from the active under their turret and didn't even take a turret blast (the active has excellent range).
Then we get to the fact that it has the 40 AD with 10% life steal, every champ AAs and that little bit of life steal can be the difference between you being slain and you leaving the engagement with 40 health.
Then you get the
which makes your life steal 12% and my spell vamp 24%. If you're using a mêlée AP (1 champ that I personally do this with is
) is building a
after my
. Effectively making my life steal 22% and my spell vamp 34% (or 41.2% if I'm using my SV quints).
Honestly,
is no more effective than
, so any champ you thought about building a WotA for, build the
, finish your build, then upgrade the HR to
The one and only champ I can see that has a usage for
is
because the healing ignores MR which makes
invincible , but if you're using any champ except
,
is the way to go.
On paper, I still think rushing HR would be more beneficial to Vlad, then building it into GB late game, but I can't say for sure because I haven't tried it. I'll come back to this post when I do because I think GB's active would allow me to get close to and kill an ADC in a team fight.
during a second backing. Gunblade forces you to buy the full upgrade on almost everyone because the base stats of cutlass are wasted.
as their first item, especially over something like
. You know, while you're farming with Rylai the enemy has come back with tons of extra AP and they just are gonna be so much stronger than you for so long.
