Gangplank tips?

Hey there, Master Fledgling here.

I continue my quest to find my perfect jungler/support. I bought Gangplank and tested out support with him, ended the game [in victory] at 20 minutes with a hydra and infinity edge.

As the support, mind you.

So, clearly that worked out fine, but how else might I utilize this scurvy pirate? I imagine jungling would be a farm fest till you have your ult or a lane is drastically pushed up, because then you have good damage if your Q CD is low enough and you chase great.

Thoughts?

Thanks, and eat your tangelos,

-MF

His jungle isn't great. He can really only take 3 camps before backing. Rito doesn't even acknowledge him as Jungle pick (no recomended build if you start smite)

You pretty much have to back after 3 camp (second buff) and buy Trailbrazer, Which you trade out when u go to enchant it for Stalkers or skirmishers depending on your enemy's comp. You want to enchant Juggernaut, So you can get Lucidity Boots, and be done with CDR, How you build after that is dependant on how the game is going.

item 3087 item 3031 item 3074 item 3065 item 3078 item 3025item 3143 take your picks.

For Support GP, I typically go the Bank/TankPlank. item 3401 item 3025 item 3087 item 3111 item 3065 item 2045 build changes base on game length and enemy comp

I was kind of trolling but I have had fun and success top with the following strategy. Take TP start flask 4 pots (3 health and wait for 1 extra mana). I just play passive and last hit with Q only going all in if they really mess up or I get a gank. Stay in lane until your oom then back for item 3093 and start working on your item 3078 . grabbing Averice Blade first with flask makes you pretty weak for fighting but you can sustain and start stacking crazy gold. Just keep last hitting and look for ults to help turn fights or get free assists in the other lanes. Honestly, I just sit on the averice to the point of never completing static shiv because by the time I would complete it (usually after tri force IE and third item) it's starting to fall off anyway. It's a fun but troll way to go about playin GP.

Best GP tip is max W or E, never max Q. While Q gives more damage, it increases the mana costs by a lot. Maxing W 1st or 2nd gives you insane sustain and reduces the CD so you can heal more often and use it to break CC. E maxed 2nd or 1st is also important because the aura gives a lot of combat stats to both you and your team. With the passive from E, you don't even need to buy boots if you get trinity force, since you will run at around 400 MS without phage procs. lvl 1 Q is a 1 point wonder to use to proc on hit spells like sheen and shiv, so the lower the cost, the more you can use it to poke or farm in lane. Typical build is Flask -> Avarice or sheen -> trinity - > shiv -> frozen heart -> visage. You get a lot of resists, CDR to spam spells and on hit damage for Q.

EDIT: That's mostly top/mid build, but the skill order still applies for support.
