Spell and blade weaving mastery
What exactly does this do? what does it mean by spells?

Spells are most abilities. There are a few exceptions (if it applies on-hit effects, it's not considered a spell, to the best of my knowledge).
Basically, spell weaving is "your spells hurt a bit more if you auto-attack the enemy first", and blade weaving is "your auto-attacks hurt a bit more if you use abilities on the enemy first".
Hope that helps! :)
Does this mean Udyr benefits from neither of these? His "spells" are just autoattack buffs and I've been using these on my AD Udyr mastery page without giving it a second thought, would they be better elsewhere?
I'm pretty sure that his spell activations (like Pheonix stance active effect's AoE) proc blade weaving enhanced auto attack damage, and of course his auto attacks proc spell weaving's bonus damage.
His pheonix probably does, but does his DoT from tiger stance? I don't use pheonix when I build AD bruiser because I can get way more burst damage and sustain if I hit tiger stance, auto once for the DoT, then go into turtle until tiger is back up for another rotation.
Yeah, I'm not sure about Tiger, I don't play Udyr enough to know that part, because it doesn't really seem like a spell or an on-hit effect, but somewhere in between.
