So, lets say you're bronze 5 for a while and your MMR is way lower than it should be, but then you win a bunch in a row and your MMR is higher, will you start skipping divisions then or will your MMR have to be consistently higher to skip? Because on my other account I skipped g4 and I'm able to skip g2 (actually thats this account), but its been that way since provisionals because of my MMR. So will the sudden increase of MMR in bronze allow skipping?
I guess what Im asking is will a sudden increase in MMR start allowing you to skip divisions even if your record is god awful before the streak? Because I decided I might as well just try and get the account out of bronze. (its bronze bc when i first started playing i thought i was ready for ranked because i didnt realize to get ranked well out of provs u basically need to carry)
yes, but you would have to maintain that consistent winning streak to start skipping to convince the mmr system that you dont belong in bronze.... no clue what this consistent streak would have to be comprised of though

In very rare occasions, it's possible to be promoted twice after one Series, due to having a high MMR. For instance, someone in Gold V that duo queues often with his/her friend in Platinum III might have an unusually high MMR due to the players that he/she is matched against. As a result, his/her MMR may be 1 or 2 divisions higher than the average MMR of their current division. After winning their Promotion Series, there is a possibility that he/she may be promoted twice. Dodging queues may also, to a smaller degree, affect the difference between your MMR and LP (-3LP per first dodge of the day, -10 thereafter).
As of Season 4, it is possible, however rare, to skip promotional series. You will need to have an MMR one tier higher than your current placement. For example, if you are Gold V, so long as your MMR is Platinum IV or higher, you will instantly be promoted upon reaching 100LP. It is possible to skip divisions along side skipping promotional series.
