For the past 15 games, more than 10 of them I went postive as Ahri. Beat my lane opponent, had more CS, upgraded trinket, warded, kept track of dragon and stuff. Yet more than half of those 15 games are losses. I think it may be because I don't roam enough. I know when to roam, it's just, every time I do, it usually goes in the enemies favor. So I tend to rarely roam. Can someone please give me tips on roaming and what to do to become a better mid laner?
Hey friend i'm a diamond mid main... i play champs like azir vik and velk and i roam quite often but only when i am bullying my lane and can instantly clear the wave coming in so i have plenty of time to do other things on the map. but roaming isn't the only thing i consider. i feel there are 4 options when you have free time at least that i can think of now thats messing with your laner while he tries to farm, roam bot, take a jg camp, or get a ward in enemy territory. all of these things will help you win the game. i recomend only heading bot if you clear very fast and or they are pushed. also work on staying healthy so you can help with an engagement your teamates choose cause they will rarely help you when your engaging lol ;)..... i was bored roaming the boards i hoped i helped a little bit i figured a response was better than none haha.
I'm not the great at ranking game (deserve challenjour) But I know my roam, on champions with cc roam is love. What I normally do is kinda push the wave to the enemy tower and act as if I'm going to back at my tower. From there you turn into your jg and kinda ward to see if hes coming (buy wards and keep a red scanning trinket). Once you see the enemy bot a lil pushed ping omw and try coming from behind. Ex for veigar just use your big circle of doom and spam abilities. Try not to take the kill but make sure that enemy is dead. You can also roam top. Alot of time when I play Zed, Whenever my ult is up I roam. Because midlane is for farming (my point of view) and I have to help my team. Like every game a fed adc is love :)
The thing that finally clicked for me in SoloQ is as long as I am consistent (not feeding, csing well, and warding the map to help my teammates keep track of the enemies moviements) You will eventually have a positive win rate. KDA is pointless if you have a 40% winrate TBH. There is the same chance for the rager or afker to be on the other team--taking those games into account if you are ahead 60% of the time then your odds of winning are just statistically better. Avoid tilting and take breaks--also learn other roles to make up for those games where MID OR FEED doesn't work.
I find that if I'm doing well and I push the lane, I will sometimes have those moments of "I dont know what to do" - that's when I roam.
Other than that, I'll also roam if I'm having a hard time against my opponent. In many ways, you can catch up to them by getting a few kills/assists bot lane as well as making your bot lane's life easier.
