So I think I just came up with a good laning strategy for Amumu.
If I go behind the enemy's 2nd turret, I can attack minions and stop them from going down the lane and fighting. This would ease the lane's traffic and allow faster progression. I can use movement Speed Items to help lose Champs in the jungle or if I get overwhelmed with minions. a few health & mana bonuses and upgrading his E and then W will help mow down the minions.
What do you guys think?
Waffletimewarp1 votesSo you'll proxy farm? Not that new of a strategy, plus Amumu is enough of a mana hog to run dry very quickly, making the strategy much harder to pull off past the first couple waves.
Xplosion King1 votesActually, the first couple are the hardest since he doesnt have that mana regen. Once I reach level 8, I usually am able to keepmy W on for long periods and by 11 or 12 I can hold it indefinately.
fuzzier951 votesThis will work mid game but not at first . as an escape plan you can also q over into the jungle with the raptors. I have also been experimenting amumu laning, mostly mid. I just asked for tips yesterday on the board. Maybe we can help each other out with builds and what not.

fuzzier951 votesthanks, i play mumu mid. i max e first and then alternate between w and q. His w is very important since it does bonus percent of their health. I had mine up to 10% per sec once. It was insane.

I get those maxed out, thought the 4th one is. I get that last when i have enough to buy it out right.
I also use these to cover my lack of tankinesss and mana guzzling.

first, it is prolly the best item for him also after completing it will also make him more sustainable in lane. also if you wanna build up some ad i would build
. For armor 
is best bet cuz it will work with his w. Im very agressive so i take 
cuz after first item completion i can sustain easier, also depending whom i am against i build 
if playing very passive and only pushing when out of range of attacks, or 
if i know i can take someone along with a red and blue pot.

BluePolarizer1 votesLane amumu is very risky due to his high mana costs, lack of defensive steroid, lack of escapes and AOE damage forcing the wave to push. The reason you have ppl run him jungle is to cover for his bad laning, otherwise if Amumu was good at laning, with how good he scales with items ppl would be running him top all day.
