So I think I just came up with a good laning strategy for Amumu.
If I go behind the enemy's 2nd turret, I can attack minions and stop them from going down the lane and fighting. This would ease the lane's traffic and allow faster progression. I can use movement Speed Items to help lose Champs in the jungle or if I get overwhelmed with minions. a few health & mana bonuses and upgrading his E and then W will help mow down the minions.
What do you guys think?
So you'll proxy farm? Not that new of a strategy, plus Amumu is enough of a mana hog to run dry very quickly, making the strategy much harder to pull off past the first couple waves.
This will work mid game but not at first . as an escape plan you can also q over into the jungle with the raptors. I have also been experimenting amumu laning, mostly mid. I just asked for tips yesterday on the board. Maybe we can help each other out with builds and what not.
What you are suggesting is called proxy farming. Singed is the poster child for it.
It's called proxy. And amumu is screwed if he gets caught out.
Lane amumu is very risky due to his high mana costs, lack of defensive steroid, lack of escapes and AOE damage forcing the wave to push. The reason you have ppl run him jungle is to cover for his bad laning, otherwise if Amumu was good at laning, with how good he scales with items ppl would be running him top all day.
