I have found him an exceptional Jungler and Support, not his usual roles but he can actually pull them off really well.

Support: He is naturally tanky with his passive and can poke down the ADC whilst also defending himself due to his passive. He counters engaging supports like Leona, Bitz and Nautilus since he can retaliate with lots of damage and turn the fight. Once he hits 6 you and your adc will most definitely win the fights because his ult deals a lot of damage which can't be ignored.

Jungle: He has a weak early game pre 6 since he uses health to clear which slowly kills him. Even though his passive provides a shield he kills himself faster than his shield protects him. He can clear Gromp ->Blue -> Wolves -> Red with 2 health potions but will be very near death. Once he get's his spell vamp then he can clear with taking nearly no damage and also clear exceptionally quickly. Below is my build which is built around his lack of cc. I take item 3709 for the slow since I have no CC, this allows me to ult then smite the most powerful enemy and if my team follows up pick up a kill and also have my enemies powerful body to fight with. After my item 3145 I rush item 3116 which perma slows target's who I ulted. This makes ganking really easy combined with my item 3709 since the target is permanently slowed by 15% for 10 seconds. This is also great since my ult's range is really large. After those items I finish off with a item 3146 and this complete's my slow build, this build brings a ton of cc into Mordekaiser's kit. A neat trick is to W a minion close to your enemies to slow them with Rylai's as they pass by.

Last but not least is laning Mordekaiser , his most powerful role. He can either break the game by Ulting the ADC and killing him with Ult + E or he can be a tanky laner which deals item 3078 of damage. I build him tankier top lane so that I can contest with the enemy top laner for survivability. Where as mid my job is to burst as fast as I can and run behind my team. So I build a item 3116item 3001 item 3157 top so I don't die too quickly or at all. Where as I build pure AP damage mid especially with item 3285 being a broken Item since it proc's with all his spells and really just does unexpected damage. item 3151 can be taken instead of item 3135 but I prefer item 3135 since they tend to build Heavy MR. http://grabilla.com/0540f-b57d49b1-0d3f-4466-9b85-7f893aaffce4.png

And his W can make it easier for adc to follow up, or for you to get out. He doesn't have any cc though. What makes him a good support, aside from doing a lot of damage (which is adc's job anyway)?

sounds like an interesting idea; luden's seemed strong on Morde in the PBE, but i haven't tried it yet in a normal game. Not quite sure Morde is useful in the jungle; they'll just take volibear and kill you :/

Lets go over why no one plays morde anywhere.

  1. Gank Magnet. He can't run and every skill he has shoves the lane. He sure as hell isn't going to 1v2 like Heimerdinger, so after he crosses the river, have fun walking away from the ganking Sejuani.

  2. Pure damage. No CC. No shields aside for himself. Can't delete anything he sees without DFG. No move speed enhancers. No dashes. No disengage.

  3. He is a worse Vlad.

Fun Fact - Mordekaiser has one of the fastest clears in the game
