I was playing as Fizz once and i saw him giving some power (purple colored) to minions. Minions became more powerful and they were shooting purple colored balls to enemies. What was that? How exactly it happened?

Your team killed the giant purple monster called Baron Nashor, and the buff you get for killing it includes powering up nearby minions.

Your team killed Baron Nashor while you were alive. This grants you a buff called Hand of Baron. This buff gives you bonus AP and AD, reduces your recall time, and buffs any minions that are near your champion.
The buff times out after 3 minutes.
