I play Annie Mid.
I feel like in some specific matchups (Kat) it would be best to get AD/Arm Pen/Hybrid Pen marks instead of Magic Pen Marks. Basically I think that in some matchups you're going to be relying on your AA to poke so you should beef it up a little at the expense of late-game.
Any thoughts?
I know I've seen at least one annie guide that suggested hybrid runes for support.
i thought annie was too op before buff and now she is getting stronger i wouldnt push my luck, shes good enough
I take hybrid pen on almost all AP mids. It is just barely lower M.Pen and gives auto's a little more harass ability on any ranged champ. It especially works well on ones that have great range (annie) or can't afford to harass with spells as much (veigar) meaning you are going to be auto'ing more often than not P:
I don't take hybrid pen on ones that don't rely on auto's for anything other than last hitting though, so champs like Xerath I will just go for pure M.Pen.
I wouldn't use AD marks/quints on any AP champ though unless you are really having issues last hitting creeps.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if blitz silence will interrupt Kat ult channeling (or any channeling)?
Buy Lichbane or Icebourne Gauntlet. Annie's auto attack range DOES matter. Learning to auto attack, moveintorangeandq~ , then immediately get a free auto attack combo is crucial. As annie support, that's all 3 procs of your Spellthief. And mid, that's ouchies for days especially when you perform that combo.
Every. Single. Time. They. Cs.
Alternatively, practice in bots a few games with AD Annie. Play her like AD Ahri and make sure a lich bane and BT are in the build. Try it out in blind pick. Do some team builders. Then go for a normal draft pick. It's an off build, it's fun, I've won before using it. Competatively don't try.

lol i was scared for a moment when ur title said autoattack annie. Anyways, yes you can run a multitude of different runes for annie or mid laners in general. Running hybrid penetration runes are good. Running flat AD runes are alright IF (and only IF) you harass the enemy alot with your autoattacks in laning phase. The flat AD will not scaling with annie's abilities nor will it scale at all because annie's build won't revolve around more AD so if you use it, you must gain some advantage in the laning phase. Armor pen runes are useless on annie.
Annie is too easy. 0 mechanical skill involved.
