? how to settle on a role and champion?

I cannot seem to settle on a champion... and I cannot settle on a role either... I have a lot of experience playing, but it is spread out over too much that I am not excelling at any one thing. any tips on picking a champion I like and is also a meta-valid champ? I liked VI and I like MAOKAI but VI seems no longer metathe jungle changes so much each patch! and maokai, I cannot lane with him to save my life.

I have mostly been playing support and adc, but in the bot lane you have to be able to be lucky that your laning partner is a good playstyle match for you, if you are not then you have an enemy with two fed champs and your team with two weak champs... I'd rather be the mid or jungler, where I can rely on my early pressure to try to get my bot lane snowballing. but like I said... the jungle is always changing, so I can't seem to learn how to clear efficiently fast enough... and it always seems mid is high competition so I never am mid.

I guess I have too many thoughts, I do not know which decision to make.. any advice?

edit: I have felt most confident playing karma mid, and just farming/harassing until the jungler comes and I go all in. I am good and not letting the enemy mid snowball... but I do not know what to do to get my team snowballing.

IMO, it'll come naturally to you as continue to play.

Personally I started as a mid player, but eventually I started taking support because it was always the only role that wasn't fought over. Now I've learned that I very much enjoy support, when initially I thought I would prefer melee bruisers based on my preferences in other games.

Just play everything, there are enjoyable aspects to every role and champion and being versatile will only make you better that the game.

Eventually you'll find something you'll really like. Dont worry too much about the meta, especially with vi. Shes actually really powerful against tanks so she should be excelling in the new jungle meta if you play her right.

It really comes naturally, last season I was an ADC main, a JG main and learned the game as a mid lane. Now I am a Riven one trick pony, if I do not get Riven I play Thresh support, aside from those 2 champs I have limited to no experience on the rest of the champs, but I have enough game experience to understand what to do, this comes with time.

Do not worry about learning a champ/role at the start, play everything, main what is fun to play.
