450+ ranked games later still stuck in silver 4-5 * /r/summonerschool

Hey guys, I started out being placed in bronze 1 going 4-6 in promos. I was silver 2 last season but this season even after 450+ ranked games, I can't seem to even get to silver 3. I can't figure out the issue but I thought playing more would help. Any suggestions? All feedback is welcome My profile: http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/51458511

You know that League Of Legends is a game where one team is trying to destroy the other teams Nexus, as the game progresses players are given access to items (some being powerful Deathcaps, others being measly Rings) to help them achieve this goal. Over-all, the only way to obtain such items is gold. There are many ways yo obtain gold in the game.

  • Last Hitting Minions
  • Destroying Towers
  • Killing Champions

These are just a few, yet the best ways of acquiring gold.

You may be thinking to yourself, "I obviously knew all that, I'm not B5". The reason I said that is so I could present my next statement with a much more clear atmosphere. I'm sorry to say that I can't tell you what you're doing wrong just by looking at your over-all stats. You main Ahri and Kat, both of which rely on getting kills and carrying the team. If you don't play them you seem to go support, which, kills are the last thing you worry about. This makes your overall KDA skewed. Your CS per game doesn't tell me much as I can't see how long your avg game is. So I'm stuck in a situation where I would only be able to give you that general response everyone seems to give people when they ask how to get better, "Play to learn the game."

This is not what I want to do, but instead, give you some tips that can hopefully help you. Unless your skill-shots are on point, don't play Ahri, she is not a hyper carry. Hyper carries are champions like Vayne, Kat, Rengar to name a few. I won't go into what makes a champion a hyper carry, but I personally played Kat and Vayne to get from Bronze -> Gold.

Now, the other half of what I'm going to tell you is denying the enemy team gold. Remember the list I wrote above? Yea, that is a list of the most common way's someone can get gold, what you need to do is do your best to stop your lane opponent from getting gold.

Last Hitting Minions

You need to focus on hitting minions yourself to get gold, BUT also try and deny minions from your lane opponent. You can do this by pushing the wave to the tower when your lane opponent goes to roam, ping that they are missing and push the wave, your allies back off and they can't get a successful gank off and by the time they return to lane, they lost about 250 gold from not last hitting. You are now denying them gold and thus, it will take them much longer to get that Infinity Edge.

Destroying Towers

Do your best to push towers and get gold. everyone on your team gets 125 gold when its destroyed and if you happen to be near the tower when it's destroyed, you get another 150. Again, deny gold, in this situation you need to prevent YOUR tower from being destoryed, stay in lane a lot, dont just let them push up to damage your tower, don't roam just because enemy bot lane is low on hp and you MIGHT get a kill. It is not worth it, trust me.

Champion Kills

You obviously want to try and get kills because it gives you gold, but like I've been saying in the past 2 paragraphs above, do your best to prevent your team from killing. Although its nearly impossible for you to save every single person on your team from dying, its 100% possible for you to not get yourself killed. I seen that you avg about 6 deaths on Ahri (rounded from 5.7). For the sake of simplicity, we will say that you had no bounty, that's 1800 gold, that's a lot. Especially when you only get 8 kills per game on her. Now, if you were to avg 13 kills per game, then those 6 deaths wouldnt be so bad, but you don't have that. You either need to work on getting more kills, or getting less deaths. And the reason I told you to focus on getting less deaths, is because it's a lot easier to not die then it is to get kills. This means, don't tower dive when you THINK you can kill the, this means dont over extend when your bushes aren't warded becase you THINK the enemy jungler isn't nearby. Don't assume they are not doing that, ALWAYS expect teemo to be in your lane camouflage waiting to get a lvl 1 cheese off you, ALWAYS expect the enemy jubgler to camp your lane and don't over extend unless you can get out safely or you KNOW you can get a double kill.

Yes, this was a lot but you asked for help and this is what I did to get to Gold 4. You should look into denying the enemy gold, because like I said, that's how you overall get better items, and thus win the game. Understand that you're not going to play at Challenger Level now, you will have bad games and you will have games where your team just isn't doing good, you need to just accept it and move on to the next game. Best of luck on the fields of justice summoner!

I will explain how to climb bronze and silver. players at this Elo tend to not have map awareness you need to take advantage of this fact. Warding is really important specially when you play assassin champs. It helps you make plays for example if you ward the jungle and you know the jungler is rotating you can ping your team or you preemptively wait for him in a bush and kill him to relieve pressure from other lanes. If you play mid try to snow ball your hyper carries(nasus, jinx, vayne ect) or adcs. Its better to give them the kill to ensure your game will go smoother. I recommend playing Lissandra mid or top she less mechanical to play she has tons of CC she can easily wins game her team fight presence can be better then kat and ahri do to her lock down.

Or you can go with my personal strategy of screw your team and go top play tryndamere and split push all the way to their base and roam to get other turrets. Honestly you can just win the game by getting 4-5 turrets by yourself helping your team snow ball much faster.

The final option is watching a good streamer(wingsofdeathx or voyboy) and learn tips, how to roam, review there match history on the league of legend site shows you masteries, runes, the build path.

I can coach you how to play split pushers to atleast get you out of silver.
