How the hell do you play Azir?

I cant play the guy for shit, and I got him as my mystery champ. His q's range is so frustrating, because it's so short I can never do anything useful with it. He's super squishy, and his mechanics are just too complicated for me to do anything.

Sounds like you received a champion you're not mentally capable of playing. Maybe ask riot for Garen?

Azir is one of the highest skill requirement champions in the game. It is going to be a long grind before you get good with him, and you will feed many games without a doubt. Eventually you will get good with him, don't give up (and don't play him in ranked until you really get good with him)

LOTS of practice is the correct answer.

Lol jk. If you want to get good at him, you're going to need at least 25 games just to understand how his mechanics. How they work together, another 10-20 games. How to become adept, even more. What I'm saying is you'll need stupid amounts of practice, and you'll need to accept the fact that you'll be playing the guy almost every game, on a huge losing streak, against both counters for and against Azir. It's one hell of a trip, but once you get to the end of the line, it is so worth it.

Man screw what everyone else is telling you. Faker told me the secret to playing azir is playing this song while your playing azir: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Gc4QTqslN4

Now you should be able to carry all your games pretty easy. Good luck man

I would look up youtube videos. I think that would be your best option

Azir requires itemization. You want to make sure you can last hit WITHOUT brining up a minion. You then need to learn how to position your warriors, especially before level 2. You also don't want to lane against zed or talon as they will eat you.

It took me several days worth of practice before I considered myself better than useless with Azir.

6+ months of maining him later and I still have a lot to learn.

He's a great champion but it takes time. Best advice I can offer you is to be aggressive with your poke in lane and try to last hit with your auto attacks instead of soldiers so that you don't shove the wave early on. Only allow yourself to use one W per wave (or none) and try to save your Q unless you can guarantee the damage on your opponent to conserve mana. Last of all, remember you can still use WE to do a mini dash if your Q is on cooldown and you're being ganked.
