Someone help me to Riven

I bought Riven I think like 3 days ago, and I'm doing pretty well with her. Usually going positive (carried a game going 19-3 recently!), however, I feel like I have no idea what I'm actually doing with her. After I get a stun off, I feel as though I'm rolling my face on the keyboard in hopes of killing the opponent and hoping my shield comes back up in time. I've been watching some boxbox vids and his playstyle seems weirdly calculated for how balls deep he goes on engages. Does anyone either main Riven and can give some general pointers or know of some good resources to get better at her?

I myself do not own Riven, nor have I ever played as her as a Fotm Champion. I do know however that Riven is an extremely vulnerable champion when her spells are on cooldown, hence why most build 40% CDR on her. Animation cancelling is her most important tool, and it's recommended that you look up and learn how to do them. That's all I got, aside from "Never pick Riven into a Juggernaut or tank."

Learn the animation cancel's, her fast combo, wall hops, and learn to make better decisions. She has one of the highest skill caps in the game with a low skill floor. So shes easy to pick up, and can carry you all the way to diamond if you put in the effort. There really is no short answer here. You grind hundreds of games with her until you are mechanically sound, a few thousand games later you will be on boxbox's level. good luck

she's a combo breaker champ. think Street Fighter in MOBA form.

you're doing lesser dmg if you just roll your face on the keyboard. don't engage with your Q or you will miss out on most of your dmg. animation cancel is your best friend. learn it and use it well. when you Q, always have your mouse on your target. she is also very versatile in quick escapes. know your ledges where you can hop over.

here's a combo i use when engaging more than one enemy champ:

(E + Hydra) + AA + (W + Ult) + AA + Q1 + AA + Q2 + AA + Wind Slash + Q3 + AA
