How do I improve on other lanes?

I main support, and usually I can get my pick as a support role. Recently I've been getting into games though where somebody else wants support, so I'm like "Okay, I can fill in jg?" But then somebody else wants Jungle. In the few games that I opt to let somebody else get support with no fuss, I end up taking a role that I have almost no experience with and very little knowledge about (mainly ADC or TOP). I gladly fill in the hopes it'll keep the team together and working better, but then I don't do as well and I can't carry my fair share of the work as a team-player.

What are some good pointers for playing Top? For ADC? I still want to main support, because that's the mindset that I feel most at home in, but I don't want to hold my team back when I fill a role I'm not as good in.

Here's some general tips, flowing from a previous thread but whatever.

How do I freeze lanes effectively and keep my opponent from abusing a frozen lane? -The trick to freezing the lane (in any lane) is to position the minion wave as close to your tower as possible without actually taking any turret shots.

What do I do if my opponent just refuses to CS so that he has a frozen lane? -Shove the wave into his tower, gank another lane or go back and buy an item.

What else can I do to make a winning lane stay a winning lane without my jungler -Understanding item power spikes, realizing that not every single cs is worth taking harass if your spells are on cool down, playing semi-aggressively when you have a huge wave behind you, and shoving the wave (especially after a succesful gank to put your opponent further behind).

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Oh, and get used to looking at your map every couple of cs. Make it a habit.
