Veigar tricks from high elo players?

Veigar's early items are the most variable. He can build any mana item to start and then adjust his build according to what's needed.

You can start tear/Cloth armor against AD lanes, or Forbidden Idol and clot armor

Against AP lanes, you start chalice.

Because of the AP item rework, you can honestly build whatever items you want. You want lots of pseudo tankiness with lots of AP? Go tear/RoA and then Zhonya's, Rabadon's, Voidstaff and sorc shoes. OR if you're facing a heavy AD team, Go Tear/Zhonya's, Rabadon's, Voidstaff, Frozen heart (Sorc shoes).

Veigar's Q allows his build to be incredibly flexible since he can farm up any AP deficiencies with his Q. Since more AP items give 80-100 AP, it's easier to swap up your build as needed.
