Best role for Nidalee right now

So I really want to try and learn to play Nidalee and become good at her, but my first question is... in which role is she the strongest right now? Because I kinda see her everywhere, top lane, mid lane, support... so it made me a bit confused about where to go with her.

AP bruiser top is probably her best role right now. You can build her as AP assassin mid as well, but she's not very good against most of the meta champs right now.

Hybrid bruiser with Void Staff or go home. Triforce/Frozen Fist, Gunblade/Rageblade, Boots, Void Staff, Tank1, Tank2.

Argumentation:

  • AD for more powerful AA, Q and AS from E.
  • AP for more powerful QWE
  • Triforce/Frozen fist for Spellblade
  • Void Staff because Q does magic damage even with bonus AD scaling
  • Two tanky items because you'll be going deep (get CDR where you can)
  • Hybrid also benifits from all Baron and Dragon buffs optimally. Even more so on Nidalee, think about it.

Consistent DPS with significant burst while being tanky and ranged. CDR will allow you to set up your pounce weaving more often.

Lane is matter of preference. In top you'll snowball hard against melee champs. In mid, you'll get poked a bit but you can all in better and roam better. Enjoy your freelo, I'll accept a mystery gift as thanks.

I usually go Mid or Top with her but more preference to mid.

You wanna know the combos before hand though so try customs because when I first tried Nid I was so so so bad.

Support Nid is a thing but I usually play that only when my friends are doing ADC.

I think a full AP mid Nidalee is the strongest atm.

I think nidalee is best in the jungle letting your traps and passives not go to waste like in mid

Having best chance hitting your spears by hitting them on nothing suspecting enemys instead of having to hit it on an enemy in lane wich expects it and will be prepared to dodge

her combo on jungle monsters is cat form al abilitys spear trap heal if u have blue than cat again use everything back to human spear and cat again since setting of the hunt resets cat abilitys

on champions you spear r w e q r q r q e w Repeat since the hunt mark reseta r and all cat abilitys

I have my bad games but ive had some great games aswel

A good way to learn nidalee jg to me seemed trying suport nidalee cause its gonne teach you how to hit spears since thats the only thing you really can do as a suport

i started playing nidalee suport cause jt was more fun than regulair suport and i was a beginner it toughed me value of warding cause i was playing suport

but afther maining it for a while i am pretty confident im going to hit spears and its a good place to learn how to use your surroundings yo hit a spear

Top or Mid depending on your preference. AP is the way to go atm IMO because it has the most damage in skirmishes, teamfights, and sieges.

Honestly, she isn't really weak at all if you are a god with her (very easy to dodge skill-shots with brush move-speed and cougar W). Her damage, assassination potential, and poke are also huge if you can land those spears. Unfortunately they are much harder to land now after the rework.

But you need to be a god with her to win games, haha. If so you completely dominate. She is Queen of the lane-phase and mid-game and even decent late-game if you can just land those pesky spears (SO SKINNY NOW OMG)

EDIT: Emphasis on needing to be a god. If you can't keep up on farm, can't land spears, and aren't abusing your power in jungle skirmishes, poke, isolated assassinations etc. you won't have a good time. She is really bad for the standard straight-up 5v5 team fighting that a lot of people like to build around in soloQ. If you don't poke before 5v5ing, you will likely lose and be completely useless.

I highly recommend you to not play her support unless you're both skilled with her and wanting to relax with something different. It might work with a Trist/Jinx (AS stacking) adc but with relic shield and nerfs to mana regen her poke is not as meaningful.

Nidalee generally wants to play more independently from her team as a split pusher. Teamfights wise there are more effective champions for targeting carries but you can peel for carries (iceborn), steroid your adc/bruiser, and being in this middle ground of front line melee and backline poker/support.

Of course, if it's free spears on a priority target and you think you can close to 100-0 by all means assassinate. I have find that building her with at least 300 bonus HP gets my job done.

Truth be told, many items can work with her and some difficult matchups can be negated with a simple item change. With practice and some experimentation you can build more intuitively.
