How do you play LeBlanc vs Kat?

So I know the general thought is that this should be an easy lane for LeBlanc, but I always seem to lose this matchup, except in the rare case I can cheese off a kill at early levels - but even then it's hard to keep Kat down.

She scales too hard too quickly, by the time she's 6 unless I'm way ahead, she can gib me nearly instantly if my W is on CD.

It's also really hard for me to trade against her early because if I toss a Q, she tosses one too except LeBlanc is a lot squishier and uses boatloads of mana while Kat can keep spamming. As LeBlanc, I do like negative damage unless I can proc my Q, but Kat's generally not dumb enough to stay in range after I cast my Q.

LeBlanc is ranged, but I find auto-ing Kat is 90% of the time unworth because the lane is always pushing in Kat's favor, meaning if I auto her I'll probably lose more health in minion damage.

And it really doesn't help that most Kats start 4 health pots and Kat outscales LeBlanc by miles very early on.

Ever since LeBlanc's fateful rework and the loss of her silence, I've had much trouble laning against Kats. In general, basic attacking her is actually useful, and very much so. If at level one, you can land 6 basic attacks and 4 Qs, that would force her to use 2-3 of her health pots.

For the most part, I try to wait until she either:

1.) Blows her Cooldowns on minions/champions/ect... 2.) Is in a clear shot of Ethereal Chains (e) and I can get the root off. That gives an extremely easy opening for a Q,R,W,W combo. 3.) A gank comes and your jungler can land some meaningful CC, so I can come in for a nuke. 4.) Lose farm for the sake of Basic Attacking the crap out of her.

I guess all you can do is hope that you can outplay her early on. Always try to keep your W available if you're in lane against her for the escape, but if you see an opportunity to jump on her, I suggest doing it.

I don't see too many LB's (I play kat a lot), but the ones that are successful poke poke poke. Your combo does a lot of damage with fairly low risk. Just switch back before kat can HER combo off (or if she does by use of her 'e' root her and do the combo again). As Kat I try to abuse LB after I see her use her jump. More realistically, however, I don't even try to kill her. If I want a kill I try to force push and roam. So LB should find a way to stop that by (1) keeping kat pushed to her tower; (2) warding and communicating with your team to waste her time while she roams; and (3) roam yourself and get some free kills.

You're a few patches too late for this to be a good matchup. With the loss of her silence (and not even an "disables interrupts" like half of the other removed silences, what's with that?) she has no guaranteed damage on kat other than her q/qr. want to proc q with w or e? She shunpos away (or onto you mid-jump if she's good) and hits you with counterharass for none of the mana you just wasted whiffing. She dives you when you jump? Can't stop that damage. Better to not use your w at all in lane, which only leaves your even easier to escape e for your combos. Finally, ready to go in on her? You're the 100-0 in 1 second champ, which is conveniently the max length of her shunpo's damage reduction, making this one of the only matchups where e makes you noticeably tankier in a trade. Yeah, the update to sigil of silence completely flipped this matchup, better to bring some sort of cc to the table to help your team stop her.

It was easy for LeBlanc until she lost her silence.

Now Kat has the upper hand. What you're going to want to do is outpush her, since you get better access to clear tools as LeBlanc.

Rush Athene's and Focus your W. Try to use your Q+W to hit her while she's next to minion waves, so that you also push. Once you get her to her tower, you can roam or help your jungler invade.

Fighting Kat 1v1, especially post-6, will be practically impossible, so you have to play to your other strengths in roaming and assassinating other targets.
