Need help with playing tanky duelists

I can't play well with duelists. When i'm playing someone like olaf or trundle i know i can 1vs1 anyone, but because most have no gapclosers, the opponents just run from me. Even if i can catch them, they'ill keep running and I wont have enough burst to kill, the only way to get a kill is pretty much in teamfights or if anyone is stupid enough to 1vs1 an olaf, aatrox etc... I have no problems with Jax or irelia, because of jump/stun, but I need tips for those like olaf or trundle, because even if i catch the enmy with a slow/speed buff, its hard to do anything.

The best tip I can give you is this; stop playing for kills.

League is a game of objectives and resources, so play toward those instead. If they want to leave let them leave, you can just freeze lane and grow your gold/experience advantage until you're content and take their tower.

This was the key lane style of the juggernauts before the juggernaut update. If they want to fight you kill them, if they don't want to fight you make sure they can't farm. They will have to make a choice, make sure that choice favors you either way.

Also, Trundle and Olaf play a bit differently. Olaf is a bruiser/assassin, Trundle is a bruiser/support.

Olaf has the capacity to ignore the front line and put pressure on key targets. He destroys mages and carries alike. None of the juggernauts give him any trouble.

Trundle eliminates the front line and puts pressure on any tanky target, especially if they're fed. In contrast, he has a harder time dealing with ap/ad carries that have mobility since he has no burst damage like Olaf does, nor can he ignore peel/CC. Trundle is not really a champion you play to get kills with. He's easier to kite than Warwick. However, his objective control is among the best in the game.
