What lane does Heimerdinger play?

Recently played Heimerdinger in one for all - we destroyed the other team. I was gonna buy him as soon as I got 3150 ip. I was just wondering what lane he plays cause he seems like he could do mid or bot.

He can go anywhere really, Top, mid, supp, Ap-Bot lane... But you can't be hiem jung.

he'ss most effective in top lane I think.

Heimerdinger is usually played mid or top but can really do well anywhere.

In the early game in...

  • In the top-lane he is a hard-counter to Yorick and Nasus ( they obliterate the ghouls and can prevent the effective farming of Q stacks although it is worth noting Q stacks can be acquired by destroying a turret ) while his turrets really do wonders against most melee champions. Against melee foes and/or skill-shot heavy champions keep your turrets clustered close together to maximize the damage they will do to any melee champion foolish enough to charge them/block any incoming skill-shots. Use your stun grenade when your jungler comes to gank or after a foe is already disabled in some way and the threat of your rockets make engaging on you somewhat difficult.

  • In the mid-lane keep your turrets daisy-chained; doing so can reduce the lane to almost half and vaporize anything that comes your way as well as helping to protect them from AoE damage skills. Experiment with getting the placement right; you'll know your doing it right when your wave begins to shove extremely hard and you'll have your foe under their tower for most of the laning phase. You'll want to work with your jungler to keep all paths to the mid-lane warded so you can be prepared for any ganks coming your way given how easy it is for you to shove the mid-lane.

  • In the bot-lane pair yourself with an ADC with lots of CC to help with landing your stun grenade. Don't go bot-lane unless you feel you have a good grasp on effectively using your stun grenade. Use turrets to keep the bush warded ( their vision radius is the same and/or similar to Teemo's shrooms ) and let your passive work on keeping the ADC healthy.

  • Can be a surprisingly good/disgusting jungler depending on your team.

In the mid/late-game...

  • He is squishy so building tanky is a good idea. The Wikia says item 3027, item 3001 and item 3116 work well with him.

  • His mana costs can be deceptively high so having an item for mana regen or an increased mana pool will be useful.

  • For team-fighting, using your ultimate on the turret is great for when your team is dove upon. Use your ultimate on your rockets to follow up an engage made by your team. Use your ultimate on your grenade to catch out-of-position foes or help your team start an engage.

  • You can bait foes into bad dives by using your ultimate-powered turret and item 3157 which means your foe(s) will be taking a lot of damage allowing your team to engage.

A few fun things about his synergy with items...

*~~ His turrets benefit from the damage boost offered by Banner of Command.~~ The item 3060's health regen stacks with your passive. You can also empower minions with it and use your turrets to protect that minion as you shove your lane.

  • You can bait foes into bad dives by using your ultimate-powered turret and item 3157 which means your foe(s) will be taking a lot of damage allowing your team to engage.

  • Lots of CDR allows you to harass foes with your rockets/grenades.

Be careful against...

  • MasterYi as his Q allows him to clear your turrets while avoiding damage.

  • Nunu as his Q allows him to heal off your turrets.

  • Syndra as she can throw your turrets out of lane.

  • Nasus, Veigar and Sion who can gain stats for destroying your turrets.

  • Veigar has a passive lane-start and people skilled with him are often used to farming under their towers. This play-style somewhat reduces your effectiveness and leaves you highly vulnerable to ganks given how far you'll be pushed up in combination with the threat of being stunned.

He can sup Ut ur gonne get reported cus everyone hates donger sup

he can mid and he can top but often best mid

problem with donger is ur gonne be only pushing and the jg cant help you or your gonne be losing and even if the jg can help you theres hardly anny folow up from.you

i preff to pick heimi in lanes i know i am gonne win (meleee onlys usualy) yasuo troldamere etcc

also if your increddubly ahead cus u counter an enemy i felt like it was sometimes more rewarding to build zonya raba than ful tank

Cause this way i could easily overextend to the second and even third Tower and since ahead raba and zonya wil easy do dmg enough to kill them yet it be impossible for them to kill you

First off I think he costs 3,150 IP and then he is usually played mid or that is what I took him, hes generally a rather defensive champian and if you play him I would recommend only roaming when 6-11 and onward. Overall he is relitively boring once you have mastered him, but that is only what I think. Have fun with him.

listen, if you want MAXIMUM FUN with heimerdinger take him bottom with a blitzcrank/ thresh (a pull support) champion. set up 3 turrets and watch blitz pull them into your shit storm and you will have a fun time, i promise

Mid is the most safe for him because of the short lane. If you ward well and really establish your zone in lane, top can work as well. He really does make a lot of things that would normally go top pretty miserable.
