I'm not doing it to make noise.

When I ping MIA, that means the bastard from my lane is no longer there, which means he or she is probably heading to YOUR lane. So please, exercise some damn caution or you'll end up feeding them doubles.

When I ping to be careful, it means we have no fucking vision, and there is a very real possibility of walking into a goddamn trap.

When I ping On My Way, it means I am in the process of moving my slow as fuck butt down to where I said I am going. So please, don't go ham before I fucking get there and die for your trouble.

To help prevent some of that, I also ping in the direction, or in the lane the runner is going. For ganks, I ping "coming" one time and might also chat "wait" if my teamate is getting excited by that, then a good timed ping before like 2-1 sec going in.
