AD or AS for Shaco, and knocking down towers?

Hello there, Master Fledgling here.

So, I bought Shaco, I decided it was a bad idea, then I tried him, continued to think it was a bad idea, tried him some more, and we're acquaintances now.

With that preface out of the way, which is better in general for knocking over towers: AD or AS? I know you obviously want some of both, but if I need to prioritize, which do I go with? With guys like Shaco, who are real hit or miss champions for me in terms of helpfulness to the team, I need to know that at the very least I can push lanes when no one is looking, if I fall behind or just get to that point in the game. Obviously, you can't critically hit a tower, so crits mean nothing there, but AD and AS are valuable for this endeavor.

Mumbo jumbo aside for now, what are some good tips for Shaco? I am slowly beginning to become competent-ish with him, going last game 4/5/4 -- which, for my Shaco play, can be considered good. How can that be better?

Additionally, my two stomping grounds are the jungle and bottom lane to support -- with built in wards and fear from W, pokes perma slows from E (When you all in) and a flash and stealth with Q ever ~10 seconds, this sounds like an aggressive AP support to me. Does such a thing ever happen?

Many thanks,

-MF

(Use to start with Vamp Sceptor, now Machete/3 HP/1 MP/Ward Trinket(sell on first back for Sweeper if planning to do Dragon at 6)

Name: J/APN-V ASH/NOC/PAN/XIN/YI AS Marks: 4 Armor Penetration - 4 Attack Speed - 1 Attack Damage Seals: 9 Armor Glyphs: 9 Scaling Magic Resist Quintessences: 1 Armor Penetration - 1 Attack Speed - 1 Attack Damage

Name: J/APN-V ASH/NOC/PAN/XIN/YI AS (SEASON 4) Marks: 6 Armor Penetration - 1 Attack Speed - 1 Attack Damage - 1 Critical Chance Seals: 9 Armor Glyphs: 9 Scaling Magic Resist Quintessences: 2 Attack Speed - 1 Attack Damage

If they have Auto-Attack based Champions.

Smite - Ignite / Exhaust / Teleport(backdoor strategy if you have a Tryndamere Top-Lane) / Heal

For invading early at their Blue/Red.

Smite - Ignite

This is the secret Shaco AD Runepage that can go AD - Assassin/AA.DPS/On-Hit/Tank and any other gimmicky AD focused varieties.

As for your question, in this order: Madred, (Tiamat-Hydra), Boots 1, Yommu's, Boots Mobility, (Zephyr -EITHER|Then the other), Last Whisper. Madred can be upgraded to Wrigglers if you ever get close to the 30 Stacks for better Dragon Control, or sell it for a GA/InfinityEdge.

For an idea on what I do.

As for learning AP Shaco, you must Master AD DPS (BotRK - The most standard Cooki-Cutter build on every guide), AD Assassin (Sword of Divine + Armor Pen Build), Tank (Hydra + All the Team Oriented Items; AKA Aura Items), and On-Hit (Wits End + Statik Shiv = Clone Murder) first before you even want to touch AP Shaco.

Then learn AP Shaco in Mid-Lane. Then as Support. Then finally as Jungle(he is soo nerfed compared to Season 2, and even much more compared to Season 3; I.E. don't bother).

Hope you understand all that. Only ever buy Sword of the Occult & Mejai's Soulstealer if you realise the enemy team's skill level is about Bronze 7(lol Duo Ques).

Here's why Movement Speed Quints are a waste of Free Stats: You can always go Boots of Speed + Alacrity if you need IN-COMBAT-MOVESPEED.

And if you want to run Move-Speed Quints you want to go all out with the gimmicky setup:

Name: UJ/AS SHA SPD/AS Marks: 9 Attack Speed Seals: 9 Attack Speed Glyphs: 9 Attack Speed Quintessences: 3 Sugar Rush

Spirit Stone / Boots Mobility / Lizard / Hydra / Stark's Fevor(you now have 40% CDR) / Build whatever else helps you to Split-Push for the REST OF THE GAME with the super all-in Move-Speed Strategy.
