Got 4th place but lost LP?

Anyone else have this happen? My friend got 5th place and gained 25 lp and he was out of the match for a good while when I finished 4th

My only thought is that it might have something to do with when you guys lost. I assume it was the same round, within a second of one-another, and the visual position desynced from the actual position.
That, or massive MMR differences.
