Teamfight Tactics strategy??

I had a lvl 3 Reksai, lvl 3 Renekton, 9 units. I didn't have any lvl 1 units. My lvl 3 units had a rageblade. Reksai also had Rabadons and the 3 second shield.

I had 3 Predator, 4 Desert, 3 Summoner

This lost to:

lvl 3 Nautilus, lvl 3 Taliyah, lvl 3 Vladmir, lvl 1 Brand, lvl 1 Amumu. 8 units.

They had 4 Warden (one being Amumu), 2 Mountain, 4 Ocean, 3 Mage.

Was this REALLY supposed to lose??? I don't get it...

What they said. The Gold Reksai = $6, Gold Renekton = $5. Mountain buff can be undeservedly strong. Besides, RNG operates even during the round. It is possible that your team would win, if the round was replayed.

All else being equal, the Silver T5 beats the Gold T1 & T2.

i usually start looking to build the Ocean/Mage/Mountain comp. If its too heavily contested or its not working out, ill sell it all and convert into a late game Light comp around lvl5 or 6. Usually excluding the 1costs since its so late and i cant hyper roll them into relevance, AND i typically wont have to compete with other Light players because they should still be 1level lower than me due to them hyperrolling for 3star Nasus/Vaynes. Ideally id end up with

Lucian2(Itemized to carry) Senna2 or 3(Light+GA) Jax2 Yorick2(Defensive items) Aatrox2 Soraka2

Maybe some extra Light fillers if im able to aquire them. If i cant, i look for Janna+Yasuo to have 2piece Mystic, 2piece Cloud, and 2 piece Blademaster Occasionally ill look for Crystal via Taric+Skarner IF i know i can itemize the Taric to be a big deal.

4 desert simply isn't a meta composition. Don't think about it too much. Ocean Mage with Brand has like an 80% win ratio or something.

And desert? No one builds that because it's weak. You build 2 desert to deal a little more damage.

This is what you wanted to actually put in your composition for it to be late game ready: Poison(ideally kog, singed, twitch, but any poison would be decent), and Nocturne.

He said “1 lvl Brand”. 1 star Brand has poor dmg he can’t be carry.

Predetors and most summoners aswell as renekton are only good earlygame, even if lvl 3. 4desert is kinda pointless, it's not doing much more than 2 dessert and does nothing for Azir. Also, Kah with no items and no assasin bonus is very weak, and sivir also needs items to be usefull, aswell as the blademaster buff. Also, your comp has no real frontline(rek and skarner need the crystal/steel bonus to be tanky later on) and NO CC. Also, ocean+wardens is the strongest comp atm, so yea, you 100% were supposed to loose.

1 and 2 gols cost units are basically never worth putting items on, even if lvl 3. The carries in most compositions are usually either 3 stars or 4stars.

With renekton and reksai, what could have worked for you is going assasins, triggering steel with nocturn+rek and dessert with Kah+Rene, and focus your items on noc or kah.

Or you could have tried to built the comp more around azir, since rageblade and rabadons are prettymuch the perfect items for him.

Amumu is a god and should always be purchased.

Caries do most damage. I suppose your carry was Reksai. Well he is tier 2. Late game tier 4-5 units inflict more damage. 3 Predator fall late game. Also your opponent had more CC.

Honestly, given how easy and strong Predators are early game, I'm glad they don't also win endgame.
