Do ap work on all spells? Ad only with autos?

Like could I build ap garen and it would be viable because his spin is op and his spin would deal more dmg? Could I build Zed or Rengar ap too?

Is Ad only for auto damage or do any spells scale with ad?

It works if the spell does Magic damage, True damage, or is a shield/heal.

In other words, it doesn't affect Graves or Draven.

It will affect Tristana/Garen.

(Morellonomicon Garen was popular pre morello nerf, and it's why you'll see AP Gangplank).

And if the spell do physical dmg? Should I get ad items then like IE for example?

Ap works on any ability that does magic damage which is most of them. So yes AP works with Garen Morello is actually really good on him. It doesn't work on Rengar though since his ability is an empowered auto that does physical dmg

When you right-click a champion and hover over its ability, you will see whether it scales with AP, AD, or none. It's indicated by the color and the icon.

For example, TwistedFate 's red card scales with AP, but blue and gold don't. Although I think they will still apply spell effects such as item 3165 .
