Did you just leave the game? Mission progress isn't tracked until the game is finished, even if you already left it.
If it isn't showing, I bet it's not giving credit because you didn't "build" the item, just equipped it. You might physically need to combine a spat and tear to get "build" credit.
You also cant build it on a demon and equip it to someone else. Need to create it on a non demon
