Is there a penalty for AFK in TFT?

(First off I'd really just like to say I'm sorry. I don't plan on playing it for anything other than events and missions. It's just too slow paced for my personal tastes).

Are we okay to AFK in TFT? I ask because I've seen it a few times and actually decided to play a different game myself since my only goal is to make it to round 20. I just need a few more champions than the other AFKs/DCs. Is this 'behavior' going to be penalized now or further down the line? It doesn't really hurt anyone since it isn't a team game.
