I had a diamond league teammate complain that we were all playing like Silver Leaguers

Turns out, we were all low silver to low gold.

Apparently Diamond players don't like playing with/against players out of their league either, Riot. Maybe we can fix the matchmaking system so we're teamed up with/against people around our skill level please?

My voice on problems that I feel this game has probably doesn't mean much though, so I'll leave you with this:

Time flies like an arrow; Fruit flies like banana.

The Diamond player needs to increase their MMR if they are not amused.

^ this. It's not that they're out of your league OP. That just means you are in their league, they might just be more experienced but not very far off your skill levels. Unless.... your team was carried there by another player.

I dont mind playing with anyone of any elo bracket. Its 2016 can we stop elo shaming already?

No. All this ranked trash is ruining my games. Either learn to play, or go back to your own cesspool. ;p

If you're diamond and you're getting put with silvers then your mmr has to be pretty bad for a diamond ranked player

Is it even possible? Wouldn't you have gotten demoted to at least plat by that point? You'd have to lose a LOT of games to have Silver mmr and still be diamond, even with all the protection.

I'm certain it was an s6 diamond who did horribly in his placements.

I've tried to explain on forums but never get massive attention that players should be matched only with players at their same level. If it's being matched against, then the level doesn't matter. It's easier to adjust the ranking points for a win or a loss based on the difference between 2 ranking stats points than the difference between 5 different stats points and 5 more different stats points. The way you have it where people of different ranks can be on the same team is the problem. If I ever see someone complain about a player being of a different rank on the enemy team, I always think that person is focusing on completely the wrong thing and that their complaint is completely unjustifiable. ** TL;DR...the easiest way to get matchmaking ranks working correctly is to only allow players of the same rank to play on the same team. **Obviously, not everyone's going to have the same LP in the same division, but at least everyone being in the same division from a team is better than what we have now. If the search times aren't terrible after that, you can then experiment with like a LP spread of 25, 50, or 75, depending on the availability of players in that division.

That's strange. He had a diamond border at least.

The diamond player probably had silver MMR, which is why he was put against silvers.

Diamond playing with Golds and Silvers? Can't be that good lol.

It was Ranked Flex and MMR is really weird for people doing placements in it.

even in solo/duo queue atm its off a tad.. but im guessing its cause EVERYONE gets place 2 leagues lower then they normally do after placements.. i was gold last season and i messed up my placements and got put into bronze.. fair enough.. plats get put into silver and so on.. give ranked another month or so to let it even itself out...

The diamond player if slightly decent, should stfu and carry. If currently unable, he/she should stfu again and be patient untill the game's over. It's just another match after all and a good diamond player knows that.

I was playing a normal blind pick game alone on my main diamond account and I seriously got matched with pre 30 players that were actually pre 30 and not even smurfs. Needless to say I carried that game.... It was pretty lame though.

It's actually really frustrating playing with lower MMR players in or out of ranked, friends or random players.

People in low MMR don't understand that if you lose fight #1 enemy goes buys an item, they probably aren't going to win fight #2,3,4,5,6,7 but they fight and feed kills anyways. That's why pro games are farm fests and one fight can determine a game.

To top it off, just because you were a higher MMR doesn't mean that you can carry yourself back. With champions being rotated in and out of meta you can make it up multiple tiers in one week, just to have your champion nerfed the following.

Third of all, games are played differently at all MMR, the biggest sign of where someone belongs is farm/minute and objective capabilities. Anyone can simply get a lot of kills of if a retarded enemy.

I think the problem was the diamond's MMR.

I myself as a silver have had MMR high enough i was being matched with plat 3's
