Talk about Staple picks!

In traditional TCG's there are cards that are Staples, essentially always a net positive with very little downside as well as being versatile enough to be played in almost any sort of comp (relatively speaking). So the Staple picks that i've spoke about in other threads that i've found are 3-4 in particular.

  1. Pyke
  2. Lulu
  3. Twisted Fate
  4. Cho'gath / Sejuani

Personally I find these 4 in particular so good that if I have at least 2 of them even if I don't have great RNG or Items or even a comp working yet, they can carry to a point until I do have something, even if it means i need to sit on some gold and just get that going to hyper roll.

Are there any that I maybe over looking? what do you think? what are some picks that you think offer very little downside?

Twisted Fate is definitely not on the top-picks list. He's actually in need of (and receiving) buffs due to his relatively low impact.

Later in the game, I'd call all of the following great picks in almost any situations:

  • Akali
  • Cho'Gath
  • Draven
  • Gnar
  • Pyke
  • Lulu
  • Shyvana
  • Aatrox
  • Kennen
  • Aurelion Sol
  • Sejuani
  • Swain
  • Yasuo
  • Kayle

All of them either offer enough power at 2-3 stars to just be solid even by themselves and/or have some sort of gamechanging ultimate that's worth dropping into most comps.

Add Ezreal. He's the safest ADC, can farm from range, puts out great damage, and has a global ult.

Draven is one of the strongest champs imo w/ items can carry pretty freakin well.. Akali w/ seraphs.. Pyke w/ 2 spear of sho
