Maybe I'm just bad, but I feel like hextech buff is just bad for the game. It forces you to position yourself awkwardly, opening yourself up to just be destroyed by the 3 people that always spam assassins every game. ONE person playing hextech can completely fuck a superiorly built team and comp. It's just stupid as hell.
I was thinking like you till I learnt something about positioning. Split your team and put a weak unit behind your carry to distract assassins. Put items on many units if you can.
Also hextech buff can be a trouble against a protected full items Ashe.
BTW I never use Hextech units.
It sort of kills those zekes, locket etc builds where folks have to be together. Guess that's part of the game though. Stinks but I just don't build those items anymore..
I mean you could argue the assassins do the same thing, as you are forced to account for them.
