Is It Just Me or Is Hextech Broken Right Now?

Hextech was a good idea in that it made it so that there was a counter to things like 3 item Voli or Draven. But I think its too strong right now. 8 seconds where items are made useless? Items are what dictate the games and especially on things like GA. Having entire carries with no items while the enemy team does seems broken. Early game maybe not so much, but in late game it seems to be the sole factor in winning or losing. I've had rounds where they end after 4 seconds because my tanks had no items and my carries couldn't do anything.

It should be more balanced, if they want to keep that mechanik, that, instead of disabling all items, it disables (Hextech units -1) items on the unit hit, that way they could encourage the use of more than 2 hextech if you want to nullify more than 1 item, instead of using only 2 to nullify an entire unit, sometimes 2.

Especially since you only need 2 of them and a lot of hextech units fit well in with other classes too.

The aoe is the big problem. It's supposed to counter big carries, but it's completely destroying piece placement as well. You have to scatter everything, which ruins the chess aspect.

If they removed the aoe it would still be broken, because it just further penalizes players who were dealt low item drops by the rng gods. The aoe needs to go, because it's serving too many purposes

It's so easy to fit 2 hextech champs into a team comp with the effect being so rediculously strong that since they added them your items get disabled basically every round.

I think it needs to either be 3 hextechs to trigger it or have it so 2 only affect 1 item user and the 4 is the current 2 hextech effect

They do well against item dependent teams, but they are pretty bad against team comps that rely more on their synergies. After all, none of the hextech champions overlap in type if you go for more than 2.

The biggest issue hextech has right now is that it just lasts a bit too long. Shave a couple seconds off the timer and it's fine, although I don't think it should be able to shut down locket or zekes.

The current most pressing concerns I have are that the champion pool is too large making it hard to find the right champions, and that there are still too many cases of players getting no items or getting a ton of items really early and running away with a game.

Hex tech is a great way to counter item-reliant comps. Given that the ability can only occur once, (and it does not last the entire match) I have not found it to be too oppressive - especially when I have the better team comp, irrespective of my disabled items.
