Item disparity is op

Teamfight Tactics can be a very fun game, but there are plenty of mechanics which can feel unfair. Perma stun from a full glacial team, full yordle teams, full assassin teams, or even the quadruple imperials. The thing about these comps is that just about anyone in the game can go them given that they are determined enough (and dont get eliminated too quick). Additionally, if you see all your opponents are committing to assassin, yordle, etc, you can build to counter them. Items however, don't have the same viability or counterplay to everyone. In my games, the first place person almost always got the best/most items during the first three minion waves. Similarly the last place person has no items worth anything. Now I get that the carousel round helps to mitigate this effect, but completing one rageblade or shojin does not help in the face of first place having 2 full items up on you. Its not every item thats busted, or every champ with it. The most notable busted item is shojin, which works incredibly well on just about any champ with CC. Give a pyke a shojin and suddenly the enemy team is permanently crowd controlled by one character. Give a T3 kassadin the right items, (rageblade PD and Dragon Claw is my favorite), and suddenly you can 1v6 without a problem. This gets worst when you are trying to fight against these comps with half the items, some of which build into really worthless combinations. The item disparity by wave 4, the first pvp round, is so massive that I've actually seen people just leave then and there after receiving no/terrible item(s). Take one look at double shojin 2 star pyke and you wonder how you are even meant to play the game. Crowd Controlled for 3 seconds at a time when it takes pyke 2.5 seconds to cast his spell. Its not just shojin pyke which gets ridiculous. Shojin on lulu is also a monster (kayle too, but she is so late game that it really doesnt decide games as much as the other two).

The real problem isn't these items.

The problem is whether you get them or not is RNG.

Currently TFT is an RNG simulator. Pull the slot machine handle, watch which fruit combination shows. That's all it is. Of course a naive player can do worse with bad choices. But when you know how to play, you are still at the mercy of RNG and your RNG gambling what future choices you might see.

Summoner's Rift certainly has RNG in team-members and draft-pick order, but in the game our personal outcomes are always related to our choices, not RNG. I love summoner's rift... after spending a day playing TFT to understand it, there is something satisfying about the shorter game, the lower attention required.. but the RNG kills it for me. I want to like it.. but it needs to be 20-40% RNG, not 90%.
