Cursed Blade's problems and Some Solutions.

This Cursed Blade meta has me salty, I won't lie. I'm definitely biased against this item because because in all of my games of TFT, I have found nothing more annoying than Placing a level 3 unit on the field and then having them shrunk down negating all of my gold spent and time wasted. I feel as through the problems with this item are threefold:

  1. The duration is infinite. Why does Cursed Blade not have a time limit? Literally every other CC item has a restriction. Hush is three seconds, Sword Breaker is two seconds, Zephyr is five seconds, but only at the start of the battle and only once. This makes no sense to me. I think a change to give it a duration could help.

  2. It stacks with itself. What's that? You have a 3 star unit!? Awesome! Oh wait, no you don't. The enemy Tristana with a guinsoos and a cursed blade made you into a 0 star unit. Now, cursed blade stacking with itself isn't inherently broken. However, combined with point 1, infinite duration, it is. I'm sure I don't even have to think about mentioning multiple cursed blades on one or more characters on your team. If cursed blade could only proc once per champion, it could help alleviate the power the items has.

  3. On-hit procs. We've all seen it. The stacked Volibear/Graves/Miss Fortune/Lucian with Items like Cursed Blade, Sword Breaker, or Hush. Again, this by itself isn't that broken, it's a legitimate strategy in it's own right. But once again we go back to points 1 and 2. Infinite duration and self-stacking combined with multi-hit is a recipe for broken combos and frustrated players.

If I would suggest any single course of action to help balance this item, it would be to change either point 1 or 2. Probably 2 if I'm being honest. It's the easiest to code, it doesn't take that much power away from the item, and it doesn't stop on-hit builds either. This is just my two cents from my time playing this gamemode. What do you guys think? Would these changes help or would it be too much? Actually think about it before commenting. The only way to show Riot our concerns is to voice legitimate concerns, not "I just lost a game to this item, it's broken!

Anyway, thanks for your time.

that item should not exist it the first place but i can understand why it is in game but that proc rate should be miniscule for power it gaves like 1% chance.

Here's another solution: Remove it.

It simply shouldn't exist. Seems cool on paper, in practice it's the most crippling debuff ever conceived. It effectively halves a unit's health and AD while massively reducing their spell effectiveness, all on a 20% "low chance" proc.

Even if it was limited to a single shrink, that's still way too strong of an effect. Also any nerfs to the item will just further shoehorn it into being a Gunslinger only item.

So yeah, remove it, gives us something better.

It needs to either not splash as an on hit, or needs to only apply once per champion. That's all it needs. One or the other.

Currently, Tristana/Lucian have WAY too much agency with it.
