Losing in TFT sucks cz you know it's not even your fault

Waiting to grab just 1 simple single champion shard to gain your very 1st 3 star champion, which doesn't appear for the next 30 turns til you lost? That sucks.

Wishing you'd get a bunch of good items but instead got a bunch of useless gold coins & items that doesn't even suit your team comp? That sucks.

Think you got settled with good teams consisting of two 2 stars and a couple of damage dealers, until you heard the gongs of that one random dude that got hit by the jackpot & gained an instant 3 star at the 9th turn? That sucks. (Yes, this actually happened)

Hopefully I'm not the only one who gets pissed off by stuffs such as this. TFT didn't even deserved a Ranked queue thanks to their shitty randomness such as this. I mean, wasn't that the main point of why ARAM didn't get their own ranked queue?

Winning in TFT is classified as anything above and including fourth place.

It's pretty rare that you won't get at least that far by playing flexibly. Use what it gives you to stay in the game while slowly working on your perfect build, don't try to force the team you want to play.

Currently it's a good plan to take advantage of noble buff, knights, or brawler to buy yourself time.

I agree to disagree though. There are ways to turn the game around when in a bit of a struggle. I have it where at the start I usually get maybe one item and a bunch of coins. Sometimes early game you might have a comp in mind, but if you aren't getting anything to suit your comp champ wise, then its best to quickly change up the playing field and readjust your comp. I've come from the very bottom in rank only to turn around and get AT LEAST 3rd or 2nd place. It's about making the best of the situation and coming up with a new way to play the odds.

Part of the problem I see with many tft players is they either keep all their gold and don't really spend which sometimes hurts them more or all they do is spend to the point they have no gold to level and they have too many champs they can't add anything. I also see it where people don't build around certain champ comps, hurting their odds more.

While I agree RNG does play a heavy role in tft, there is a way to adjust the rng to help you a bit if you know how to do it correctly. I went from Iron 2 and rose quickly to silver 2 in tft rank.

Here's why this is horribly wrong:

  1. TFT is imbalanced with imbalanced items and teams who are specifically designed to exploit them.
  • Sorcerer Aatrox: 1 second recharge of skill, that does 200-300% of his skill's innate damage, or 2000-3000 damage to an entire area. Can lock in a win if accomplished.

  • Hush Tristana with a Gunslinger (4) Bonus. Stronger than any other silencing build in the game. Can carry harder than any other build, works well with Noble, and can actually pull off a Full Noble/4 Gunslinger buff with a Lucian to boot to have TWO multi-tapping Gunslingers. Has no natural counters.

  • 6 Yordle + 6 Sorcerer; Lock if built defensively.

  • Defensive build Assassin; outputs significant damage while disabling skills, and reducing attack speeds and doing everything an assassin shouldn't. Broken tier when accomplished.

The Tristana build is almost accomplishable EVERY GAME.

3x/4x more lvl 3 units, both better and also 2x more items while lucky for drops. Which in turn also implies a higher economy. I won games even with all units tier 1 vs 3 units lvl 3 - "if luck was on my side in terms of items". But when you have bad luck for both. Impossible.

Gavnuken7/31/2019, 1:57:30 AM3 votes

Sadly it's 60% rng and 40% skill. You can end up in matches where dude get 6 3 stars and a tons of items to just pwn your comp while you are struggling to get 1 3 star all game... But I guess this is why we are coming back to play this, so I hardly doubt anyone is going to change it to make it more "skill" based...

I think the random element takes the pressure off.

I won't berate myself for losing a slot machine spin, or a roll of dice. So it's no shame or stress to lose a match of TFT.

I've went against someone that got 7-8 items on minion round (on the very first patch before those guaranteed mystery boxes were implemented) and someone who got a lvl 3 unit on the next round. I stopped playing tft because of this horrible RNG management.

xxxliltrash 7/30/2019, 7:19:01 PM2 votes

That what makes winning rewarding, unless you get 5 items from minion waves.

Ban Affleck7/31/2019, 1:47:13 AM2 votes

Can you buy items with coins?

Jennifer4207/31/2019, 4:44:26 AM2 votes

worst part: next patch gives no changes to items.

Swollwonder7/31/2019, 1:30:02 PM2 votes

Complaining about RNG in an RNG based game. Makes sense.

Pika Fox7/31/2019, 1:36:52 PM2 votes

No. If you lose, its almost entirely your fault. If you cant get that last single for your first 3 star, you either leveled too high, or are running something too many other players are also running.

All they have to do to improve TFT is reform or remove the shared draft. The only reason anyone tries to throw games is the draft, because 99% of the time you're looking for an item instead of a champion.

They could always just implement an item shop, which would solve loads of problems.

Fuck TFT, pure luck, no skill, no consistency

SammyDayspring8/12/2019, 1:02:56 AM1 votes

If it's that bad, why do people keep playing?

Nele Ra7/31/2019, 7:16:06 AM1 votes

Yeah I definitely have a hard time due to rng too, especially since I'm a bit stubborn and if I miss only 1 champ for my 3 star I'll just roll till I get it or I run out of gold and that's not the "right" way to do things. I think in ranked you just have to be consistent in order to win alot and play comps that are both meta but also not too hard to pull off. I looked at content creators like Toast and Scarra on youtube and studied guides on how to win more in ranked TFT and I come to the conclusion that yes rng has quite a significant role in securing you wins but in the end good players will always climb due to identifying and making the more consistent and less RNG based decisions.

Gavnuken7/31/2019, 3:18:49 AM1 votes

That would actually be really nice. I just finished 2 games where 3 people were running demons. It's get really annoying when there are only few actual viable comps in the entire game and everyone plays them. But it's still beta so I am excited to see how this progresses :)))

DannyboyWPG8/1/2019, 4:20:04 AM1 votes

At times, I want to agree with the OP. But I have to remind myself, the more completely I understand ALL Item options, ALL team Compositions the better equipped I am to make mid came pivots to counter my opponents. This game can and will feel like a Heavy RNG game to those of us simply not that good YET! I'm not coming at the OP, I've felt this way as well, but just need to remind myself to get better. The more I understand my options and stay flexible to what I'm being delt, the better I do.

Just a thought, I could be wrong.

Login to LoL. Que up for ranked solo/duo. Go to lobby, dude got support yet doesnt want to play it. He says ok. Game starts. Dude dies 2 times goes mid dies few times. Fuck this team no help. You beat your lane opponent yet you lose. Its okay lets go to next game.

Dude picks draven. Goes agressive 0/8 enemy x champ is 12/0 with ie in 3rd minute. Lost.

(This is my last game) I get top, dominate top with jayce, my adc picks annie, dies few times, goes top and says move from my lane you didnt help me at bot ???? Idk either how that works but iam not moving from top, supp starts flaming me cause i wont leave top to annie iam 7/5 shes 0/8. Our jungler 5/1 blamed also. Lose.

Do i need to continue?

Start tft. Get some items, gather as much t2 units and level to 7 asap. Get 4 or 5 cost unit that matches my items get some synergies get 3-4th place even tho i got shitty rolls and enemy gets good. Next game i win cause i get early t2 kha and snowball.

Iam diamond and there are shitty stuff in tft like shrink ray but on smurf in low elo i have win rate of about 80% so its not luck but skill AND NOBODY CRIES!!!
