People went nuts went URF winrates got ridiculous

So why do we tolerate similar ARAM winrates every day? Everyone knows this mode isn't random, but honestly. A group of like ~15 champs just completely annihilate this mode to the point where you might as well AFK if the enemy team gets two or more of those champs on a team. Map specific nerfs have been used in the past. Why not tone down Janna's stupid tornadoes? Or Sona's heals? Or Ziggs bombs?

If you continue to refuse to make the mode random, at least remove the illusion completely by not allowing more than one of these S-tier cancers on the same team.

Outside of copying SMITE in making sure both teams have the same number of healers, no. What it needs is counters to smurfs and dodgers. WIth them out of the way, the randomness would be balanced by scale. Sure a single match may be a stomp one way or the other, but it's likely to happen equal times both ways over your career. It balances out to where your ability to overcome a champion advantage for the enemy team (and how big of one you can) is the most important factor in your winrate.

Countering ARAM only accounts is as easy as opening up the champ pool. Dodgers can be given harsher penalties. Not a huge fan of rerolls and trades, but that's not unreasonable. The stomp-and-be-stomped argument will never, ever work in a game that actually uses algorithms for matchmaking unless they're literally for a 50/50 split, which they are not. Even if champ selection is random, the people you are matched against will never be-- and you're always either climbing or falling. There is no in between.

Things are evening out a bit now. Yes, there are still trash champs (aka ADCs that can only autoattack and not poke), but with all the new bruiser items (ESPECIALLY new warmogs), a lot more champs can at least have a chance. If you're an AP champ, you can go AP bruiser (RoA -> warmogs), if you're a melee, you can go aegis->warmogs, and if you're one of the previously god tier champs, just do as you did before.

Agreed. ARAM is supposed to be fun, but there is literally nothing more anti-fun than seeing these shits Lux Ziggs Nidalee Velkoz Veigar Xerath nonstop nuking you from the safety of their team's backline.

And make it 10x worse if you ended up rolling a jungler like Udyr Vi LeeSin XinZhao Skarner

Absolutely ruined the mode. It was novel in Poro king, now it's just fucking annoying, because the people who abuse it do so on champs who already have disgusting mobility.

Galio Galio is the biggest abuser of mark/dash and has a ridiculous 66% win rate in ARAM averaged over all regions with a 64% win rate in NA this week. About a month or two ago i checked the ARAM win rates, galio was at 66% back then too.

He's an oddball case of map strength that I actually mind less. AoE mages that do well on this map and every other map bother me. Galio doesn't. Snowball is flash 2.0. Immobile champs can't not take it, but the people that get the most of it already have too many dashes/blinks/jumps.

You realize the heal is far from Sona's biggest problem, and that it's already toned down due to map-wide heal debuff aura, right?

Also, team with tanks generally beats team without past about 17-18 minutes now, especially with new Mog's in the game.

rofl, Sona was just an example. Pretty much all castable heals make an entire team virtually immune to poke and can mitigate RIDICULOUS amounts of damage. No other map has this problem.
