Turn off Crystal Scar / TT

I don't get why these modes still even exist, with all the talk about why Featured Game Modes can't stay, all the new champoins and reworks with Rift specific mechanics, and rampant bot abuse.

Even in the latest "BIG UPDATE" to these two maps, only TT actually got anything in terms of content and balance, Crystal Scar fans were handed some graphic tweaks and that's it.

I don't know many people who enjoy these maps, and new players seem to end up hating them with a passion, when you ask them to step onto the rift and then suddenly they learn about 2 more maps with completely different rules and items. IT's too much. And the real fans seem to just be suffering as they ask for attention to their maps but continually get ignored or given some measly tweaks. Or worse, if there are even 5 Mordekaiser fans out there that play TT or Crystal Scar... have fun getting the dragon ghost.

Why do these modes sit and rot with huge queue times, small communities, when Riot remains so adamantly principled about never letting people play the special game-modes for more than a week because the novelty would wear off? Are we still pretending that "multiple maps" is still a competitive selling point for League compared to other games?

I think both Dominion and Twisted Treeline have significant enough playerbases to justify keeping them around, so disabling them would be silly. I'm a high MMR Dominion player on EUW, and I played 8 Dominion games today. It's not dead.

Dominion, Twisted Treeline, and ARAM all stick around because they're from simpler times, back when Riot ostensibly planned on supporting multiple game modes. Featured Game Modes don't stick around because Riot realized it's really bad at supporting multiple game modes. How does it benefit the playerbase to remove Dom and TT? Any other game modes added to replace them would in turn suffer from the same neglect, stagnation, and abandonment. Plus, Riot promised Dom and TT would be permanent maps, so it's nice to see them standing by their word on that.

Really? Because from what I've seen, aside from issues with bots, new players don't seem to lean towards either side. Some people don't like the alternate game modes, sure, but a decent number do. Lack of support is the most common complaint, which isn't necessarily an inherent part of the maps themselves.

^ sadly... i almost agree. I am an Avid Twisted Treeline player. It was the first map i started playing and played it exclusively for the first year i played league. Sadly tho, with the recent bot issues, its become almost impossible to play an actual enjoyable game. I jumped into queue this morning, and waited for 4 min... just to be put into a game with 2 other bots on my team. ;( I dodged... and had to wait 6 minutes to play another game. I can't understand why riot just lets these modes sit here like this. New people never try them again once they find out half their team is going to be bots, and even my long-time TT friends have jumped ship because playing with bots isn't fun for anybody.

If the bot problem could be fixed, I could deal with a smaller amount of updates and attention, but at this point, its not even worth the time until the IP farming bots are actually dealt with. The "BOT BAN" that we heard about didn't seem to help much. I dont know what riot is thinking? Makes me sad!

RIP TT... you'll always be my first <3

I miss old TT that wasn't a mini-dominion with the capture point things. Feel like they just add an annoying sidequest you are forced to do to win. Doesn't really add enjoyment to the mode. And the problem with (old)TT was limited viable champions (tanky dps TryndamereAmumuJax and campy dudes HeimerdingerShacoTeemo were OP as hell)...which, those same champs are also good at holding capture points.

Not only do I disagree completely I think more maps should be added, two more in fact, one for 2 players and one for 4 players. That way no matter how many or few friends you have you can pick a map to suit your needs without having to play with people you don't know.

It would also be nice to see a map for 6 players, 1 person for every champion type/role.

The more diversity in maps and game modes the better.
