Division promo series do nothing but add stress to ranked

As if it's not enough to maintain a positive winrate, suddenly you have to win at least 2 of these aribtrary 3 games? It's not like a best of 3 in a tournament where you would be playing with a team you know and you'd get to prepare for the team you'll be facing and you wouldn't have to worry about things like afks.

Division promo series are unnecessary and stressful

I disagree. i believe they are necessary, but riot should have a system in place so people doing promos will be playing with people doing promos. That way it will at least cut down on the afk's and such.

Or they could just revert back to the old system of visible elo. This system does nothing but soft cushion the bad players to make it look like it might not be so bad and gate people to 3 random games to go up when in reality their elo is already above the division threshold.

This new ranked system absolutely sucks. They hide your MMR but still use it to calculate your LP gains, and the promos are just the worst thing in the world.

I agree that the three games are kind of arbitrary, but I don't think they should simply get rid of them. This is what I think they should do: -every tier has an lp cap equivalent to the amount of lp you get from 10 games -We'll say 10 lp gain per win and 10 lp lose per lose no matter what. -While you have at least 70 lp if you win 3 games in a row you rank up. -Depending on your win/lose you can at best skip one sub tier ie 4-2 and you will be placed with 50lp in that tier. -50 lp is the most you can be placed with in any tier, meaning the minimum number of games to rank up is 5

This would essentially mean that you are always in your promos while above 70lp
